2. ‘I Wanna Get Better’ by Bleachers
Since they first broke out with their mega hit ‘We Are Young,’ Fun. has been one of more interesting bands in the alternative rock scene. It didn’t come as a surprise to me when I found out that their guitarist, Jack Antonoff, started his own band called Bleachers (especially since he was the singer of Steel Train). It did however surprise me how much more I would like Bleachers than Fun. Bleachers isn’t just a stranger or different sounding version of Fun., it’s a whole other entity entirely. Strange Desire is a loud statement made by Antonoff saying he isn’t just a guitarist for a successful band.
Started by Jack Antonoff (Fun.), Bleachers dominated most of the major music festival this past summer and their mark on the indie alterative scene was made with ‘I Wanna Get Better.’ The track is an uplifting indie anthem that solidified Bleachers as a great rock band and not just another side project.
