There’s going to be a certain theme you see throughout this list: Sci-Fi movies. I’ve always contended that Sci-Fi is one of the more difficult genres to pull off, but when it works, it works BIG. There’s always potential for any Sci-Fi endeavor to fall flat on its face though. Tomorrowland is the first of these films. Yes, director Brad Bird has excelled ten fold in animation, and made a solid live action directorial debut with Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, but this is an entirely different animal. I wrote this movie off, but that first trailer was damn impressive. It’s the text book way on how to do a teaser trailer: a ton of intrigue, but you get absolutely nothing. They really Nolan-ed it up. I’m definitely intrigued, but still a bit skeptical. Let’s also not forget the writer is Damon Lindelof, who is the roulette wheel of screenwriting. Who knows where it’s going to land.
