The Princess Bride (1987)
The Bride: Robin Wright
The Groom: Cary Elwes
The Bridal Party: Mandy Patinking, Andre the Giant, Christopher Guest, Chris Sarandon, Fred Savage, Peter Falk, Billy Crystal.
When thinking about some of the best wedding movies ever made, one film always comes to my mind first and that is the perfect Princess Bride. While many aspects of greatness fill the film, such as true love, pirates, Rodents of Unusual Size, Miracle Max, etc… it is the wondrous wedding between Prince Humperdinck (Chris Sarandon) and Princess Buttercup (Robin Wright) that makes this film a great and impressive wedding film. Not due to the Prince and Princess, but do to the Impressive Clergyman.
The Impressive Clergyman, played by the ever talented and absolutely hilarious Peter Cook, is one of the highlights of the film, pronouncing ever word without any R’s or L’s. Infuriating everyone in the film, but producing major laughs from the viewers back at home. Without this little scene, and this extremely impressive clergyman, the film’s wedding wouldn’t have been as special or as gut wrenchingly funny. Thanks to this little cameo, this film will always feature one of the best weddings ever, and will forever be one of the best wedding films out there.  –Laura Dengrove
