#10from24west: February Edition

Another awesome month is coming to a close here at 24West! In addition to all the amazing stuff going on with our clients, it’s been a HUGE month for our company as well. Gone is the website we’ve had since 24West was a ‘side project’ back in 2009. In its place is a beautiful new website designed by our friend Duckwrth that really represents where we are as a company. If you haven’t been there yet, make sure to check it out at 24west.net!

We’re also excited to be co-hosting our first SXSW showcase this year with Roll Call Records, Indie Shuffle, Smoke & Mirrors, Red Star and Bandsintown. It’s an amazing lineup that we’re really excited for! Check out the flyer below for more information!

Here’s what’s new from our clients!

Cold War Kids on Nerdist Podcast – Earlier this month, Nathan and Maust from Cold War Kids stopped by the The Nerdist podcast to talk about life on tour and how they became a band. They also found time to play a couple of tracks from their latest record “Hold My Home”. Click below to check out the podcast here!

Bop English (James Petralli of White Denim) Releases 1st Single – James Petralli, of White Denim, has long used the moniker Bop English to release his solo demos to true fans. This year the world at large is finally getting the Bop English record they’ve been clamoring for. The lead single “Dani’s Blues” premiered with Gorilla vs. Bear and is a perfect example of the sensitive balance of anthemic and thoughtful music that Petralli’s solo work has managed to find. Check it out below!

San Fermin Return with new single “Jackrabbit” – San Fermin is one of the most interesting bands in the indie rock world right now. They classify themselves as “baroque-pop” due to the interesting composition of the band that includes instruments traditionally thought of as classical into modern pop rock. Its been done plenty of times before but, in my opinion, rarely as good as San Fermin. Judge for yourself below.

Nicole Atkins x Free People – There are very few more organic brand/artist pairings than Nicole Atkins and Free People. We were lucky enough to capture Nicole in some of her favorite Free People pieces in a special feature for Nylon Magazine. You can check out the interview and pictorial here.

Mexico City Blondes Release “Shot The Moon” – Last year, just under the radar of the mainstream music world, Mexico City Blondes was subtly one of the most blogged about/critically acclaimed bands around. This year, we have the honor and  privilege of helping them reach that next level of notoriety. Their first new single of 2015, “Shot The Moon” premiered on Hilly Dilly and has been spreading like wildfire (as one would expect). Check it out below!

Intimate Performance Videos from Empires & Outasight – As we mentioned last month, one of the best treats for a fan is to see their favorite band in an intimate setting they might not otherwise have access to. This month we premiered two such videos, one for “Silverfire” by Empires and one for the track “Invitation” by Outasight.

Remix! – We also had the honor of premiering two awesome remixes this month. The Kickdrums nailed it on a remix of “Sleeping Limbs” by From Indian Lakes and two of the most buzzed about LA bands at the moment met on the TeamMate remix of Say Say’s “Like An Animal”. Enjoy!

Jordan from The Ready Set Debuts New Project “Cold Shoulders” – It was our pleasure to help debut “Wasting Away”, the first single from Cold Shoulders this month. Cold Shoulders is the new project from Jordan of The Ready Set, Jared from Dresses and Trevor from Plug in Stereo! Stay tuned for their new album coming out on MAD Dragon Records later this spring!

SPNY Sells out of Half the Winter Line – One of our new projects, the upscale streetwear company SPNY, sold out of half of their winter line in less than 48 hours of each piece being released. There are still a few select pieces available in the online store, but this probably won’t be the case for long. Make sure to grab yours today if you’re interested!

Test Prints for our first 7” Vinyl are in! – Finally, the test prints for our first 7” are in and they sound friggin amazing! We’re so stoked to release “Breathe Again” by The Kickdrums on vinyl to you guys later this spring!
