What do you get when you take summer fun and a studio full of musicians? A new hit record from Slightly Stoopid’s upcoming album, Meanwhile . . . Back at the Lab. The album is to be release on June 30th, but the band is allowing a sneak peak into what they have in store with their new single “One Bright Day.” This song will be available for pre-order on iTunes and physical and bundle along with another track entitled “Life Rolls On.”

When asked about the production of this new single, Kyle McDonald, (guitar, bass, and vocalist of the band), explained (via press release) “One Bright Day was a track we were just having fun playing the ukulele in our friend, Jerry Wonders’s studio (Platinum Studios NYC). We pressed ‘record’ and ended up tracking it.” But the band weren’t the only members involved in the making of this new track. The band’s Grammy-award winning friend, Angela Hunte, also best known for co-writing “Empire State of Mind alongside Alicia Keys and Jay-Z, “Blessed it up with her beautiful voice and it was a wrap… Good times hanging with good friends,” exclaims McDonald.

According to the press release, Hunte herself had nothing but great praise to say about “One Bright Day”. When asked about the new track she “Thought it was on of the most beautiful melodies [she] ever heard. Kyle and I about collaboration for a while and I knew this was it. One Bright Day is a song about hope and never giving up when faced with adversity.”

The band will be releasing this single from their title and album cover, which references the warehouse studio, The Lab at Stoopid Studios, in San Diego. Meanwhile…Back at the Lab will be the first release from the studio sessions, which began in 2012. The creative process started shortly after the success of the seventh studio release Top of the World, which served to be the bands most successful album landing on the Billboard charts as No. 3 on the Independent Albums along with other chart positions.
