The Legend of Zelda – Logan J. Fowler
The Lord of the Rings/Hobbit films are a beloved set of movies, featuring fantasy, adventure, and wonderful special effects that all blend together to showcase true art. With these films out there, it’s a wonder that a Legend of Zelda movie hasn’t been made.
True, it would be difficult to pinpoint one Zelda story in its huge timeline to adapt to film, but if one were to break it down to its pure formula-Zelda is capture, Link learns to become a hero, gets the Master Sword, defeats Ganon, etc.-then it could possibly be done.
But who would be so bold and courageous to direct such a franchise that has millions of fans all over the globe? Peter Jackson would be an obvious choice, as he was the man behind the aforementioned LotR and Hobbit movies. I could also see Christopher Nolan being a promising choice, as the man is a visual storyteller, and The Legend of Zelda series benefits from a lot of visual aspects. However, Nolan’s use of colors are somewhat dark, and the adventures of Link demand color. Perhaps Guillmero Del Toro could be of use as well? After all he seems to have a true understanding of fantasy, and he could even pull Ron Perlman back in to play Ganon. Whatever the case, why this movie hasn’t come to fruition yet is a secret to everybody. Except Nintendo of course. I mean, I’m sure they’re not happy with what happened to their beloved Super Mario series when that got made into a movie.
