4. Vegas Vacation (1997)
While Vegas Vacation is clearly the worst of all the Vacation movies, I still think it’s passable. The premise is decent. A guy like Clark would absolutely succumb to a gambling addiction. He’s got a somewhat humorous rivalry with Wallace Shawn, an obnoxious blackjack dealer. Randy Quaid pops up as oddball Cousin Eddie per usual, and that’s probably where Vegas Vacation shines the most. Audrey (Marisol Nichol) has a completely forgettable plotline, but Ellen’s (Beverly D’Angelo) run in with a love struck Wayne Newton could have been better if they played up Newton’s obsession more. The one subplot that did seem to hit was Rusty (Ethan Embry) as a dumb luck gambler, who becomes a Vegas big shot over night as Nick Papagiorgio. One of the biggest reasons this movie fails is in the music. It’s such a pathetic generic comedic score that it really brings the already lackluster jokes down even more. One laugh out loud moment from Vegas Vacation though is when Clark goes to some low class casino and plays games like “War” and “Pick a Number Between 1 and 10.” That’s brilliant.

ummm NO, moron.
Vegas Vacation is the best movie in the series BY FAR.
Then Christmas Vacation for being an amazing Christmas movie, then the original for being just above okay, and European is dead last because Europe just sucks.
Stay clueless, asshat ; )
