After an extended hiatus, Adele has finally confirmed the title and release date of her long-awaited third album. Once again naming the record after her current age, 25 will be released on November 20, with the music video for its first single, “Hello,” premiering today.
Adele formally announced the new album in an open letter she published earlier this week, where she discussed her desire to live in the moment and enjoy herself as she is now instead of looking towards the future. She also wrote that 25 will be a, “make-up record” about, “making up with [herself]. Making up for lost time. Making up for everything I ever did and never did.”
“Hello”, the first of what will surely be many hit singles from the new album is reportedly about Adele’s estranged relationship with her father. The critically acclaimed Canadian filmmaker Xavier Dolan directed the stylish video, released this morning.
Not much else is known about the upcoming album, but it is rumored to include collaborations with Ryan Tedder of OneRepublic, Danger Mouse, and Tobias Jesso Jr and Max Martin, best known for his work in the ’90s with the Backstreet Boys.
The tracklist is as followed:
‘Hello’
‘Send My Love (To Your New Lover)’
‘I Miss You’
‘When We Were Young’
‘Remedy’
‘Water Under The Bridge’
‘River Lea’
‘Love In The Dark’
‘Million Years Ago’
‘All I Ask’
‘Sweetest Devotion’
