Pre-Trailer Thoughts: Bad Moms was totally unheard of to me until I saw it being shared all over my Facebook news feed. That’s all I have to say about that. -LJF
Pre-Trailer Thoughts: I really have just about zero expectations for this. From the two guys who wrote The Hangover but haven’t done much else since, this is setting up to be a female-driven comedy in almost the exact same vein as their previous attempts to recapture the zeitgeist of The Hangover. I like the trio of Kristen Bell, Mila Kunis, and Kathryn Hahn as the titular moms, but almost nothing else is appealing to me before I see the trailer. – JTM
Rate the Trailer: 2 out 5. The concept of Bad Moms is good enough, especially in this generation, where the helicopter, strong willed parent is becoming increasingly more standard. The cast is solid, but I can’t help that think that moms who were even older would give this a better comedic spark. That’s not to insult the actresses within, just my two cents. -LJF
Rate the Trailer: 1 out of 5. Ugh. Haven’t we been here before? The overworked mother who can’t balance her work and social life. The all-too-perfect mom who is head of the PTA who rules with an iron fist. The character who is constantly drunk. The character who is undersexed. Scenes of a character receiving insults that goes on for way too long. Scenes where a group of people walk into someplace looking badass with a hip-hop song ironically playing as the camera speeds up and slows down. This movie looks to fulfill every cliche of The Hangover and all it’s knockoffs that have come out in the past seven years and does a poor job of even imitating them correctly. – JTM
Theater, Rent, No Thanks, Undecided? Undecided. Bad Moms might be a decent rental, or there may be a push from my significant other to see it on a random weekday. It’s probably at least entertaining in some form, but if this one passes me by completely, I’m not going to lose sleep over it. -LJF
Theater, Rent, Undecided, No Thanks? No Thanks. There’s just nothing here for me. This is the kind of movie I got roped into seeing when I was 17 because one of my friends thought it looked good and I regretted going about 15 minutes into the movie. No Thanks. – JTM
Bad Moms start kidding around on July 29th, 2016
