1. La La Land
Release Date: December 2nd (limited)
Cast: Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone, J.K. Simmons
Director: Damien Chazelle (Whiplash)
Normally I wouldn’t make a quasi-musical as my #1 most anticipated film, but one word – Whiplash. Whiplash might be the best movie of the last five years. Therefore, the director is going to get a huge bump. I want to see what this guy has up his sleeve. Combine that with three extraordinary leads, and there’s your most anticipated movie. The trailer looks like a classic Hollywood film made decades ago. You can tell someone gave this guy a lot more money after Whiplash. Not only could I see this winning a crap load of Oscars, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it made a ton of box office as well. What I also loved about the trailer is the plot is still somewhat of a mystery. Damien is really taking a page out of the Christopher Nolan/J.J. Abrams playbook. We’ll see if it pays off. Maybe the movie will be a mess. Who knows? If this reaches the potential it can though, this director’s name will be thrown about for every superhero project known to man. He’ll be the most sought after commodity in Hollywood.
Oscar Alert! Everything. This is one of the three early front runners.

Wow! You sound like someone who’s so educated on Fantastic Beasts!
If you were a Harry Potter fan you at least do your fucking research and find out that the beasts are not the focus of the film! I know you’d hoping for an underwhelming box office, but it’s fandangos most anticipated fall film! Stop trying to force your douchey negativity on all of us.
This films is about life in Wizarding America, no about beasts. You don’t care about it because you’re a lazy ignorant asshole who takes everything at face value. You seriously think JK Rowling would give us a story just about creatures? It’s a trilogy, you fuckin’ idiot. And it’s had massively amazing test screening reviews. Please stop writing.
