Joe Manganiello Officially Casted in New Batman Film
It appears Gotham is about to have a lot more to worry about then just the Joker.
Joe Manganiello has officially been casted in the lead villain role as Deathstroke aka Slade Wilson for the new stand alone Batman film, directed and starring Ben Affleck as the Dark Knight himself.
While this casting news has been heavily talked about over the past week, since Affleck teased the characters involvement on social media, it has only just been confirmed today.
As stated by Variety, “DC Entertainment president and chief creative officer Geoff Johns confirmed the casting on Thursday in an interview with the Wall Street Journal.”
While Deathstroke is usually seen as the main antagonist in the Teen Titans universe, he has faced many other DC heroes including the Bat himself.
While this will be the first live action cinematic portrayal of the villain, he was also previously played by Manu Bennet in the CW hit television show Arrow.
The Affleck/Batman film has no release date set as of yet, but Affleck will appear in the upcoming Justice League films set for a late 2017 release.
