Jesse L. Martin on Whether Barry Should ‘Pull an Iron Man’ & a Superpower for Joe?

Over the summer The Pop Break caught up with Jesse L. Martin, who stars as Detective Joe West, on The CW’s hit series, The Flash. The series has been one of the flagship shows for network’s surge in popularity along with other DC properties like Arrow, and Legends of Tomorrow.

Joe West has been a staple in the series since the first episode. West is the foster father of Barry Allen (Grant Gustin), and the biological father of Iris West (Candice Patton), and Wally West/Kid Flash (Keiynan Lonsdale)

Martin is no stranger to wearing a badge on television, appearing in nearly 200 episodes of the seminal crime drama, Law & Order. His big break came playing Tom Collins in the original version of Rent.

Here’s what Mr. Martin talked to our staff about…

*What we can expect from Joe West in Season 4
*His thoughts on whether Barry should “pull an Iron Man” and reveal his identity to the public
*His thoughts on why and how the West family has remained so strong.
*How Team Flash functioned without The Flash
*If he could give Joe a super power
*The theme of Season 4.
