Review: Transformers vs. The Visionaries #3

The aftermath from last issue continues to ripple across Cybertron! Tensions are high, factions divide, and unlikely alliances are made to ensure the safety and future of two races.

I often forget this has spun out of the IDW First Strike and Revolution stories. The latter tale introduced us to Garrison Kreiger, a character often spotted in the spin-off MASK, G.I. Joe, and Action Man titles. Then from First Strike, this second-string villain goes full-throttle, and by the very end we get the twist of twists, and he’s Merklyn, the evil Space Magic Sorcerer from Visionaries.

He’s got control over parts of Cybertron, and the Darklings feel parts are just not enough.

Here’s something funny I just realized. Cybertron, is a big planet. Because giant robots live on it. Visionaries are human-sized, therefore, don’t take up as much space. Yet, they want the whole planet anyway.

Just saying, that’s a whole lot of planet for a bunch of Earthlings.

The Cybertronians discover some secrets about the magic being used against them, while the various tribes of the Visionaries take sides against the coming threat.

Reminds me of how Superman is vulnerable to magic.

It’s the build to the big battle, and everyone is running out of time to survive.

Transformers vs. The Visionaries #3 gets a 9 out of 10.

Transformers vs. The Visionaries #3 is available at comic book retailers everywhere.
