Since the announcement of the Sea. Hear. Now Festival earlier this year, the Asbury Park music scene (and beyond) has been abuzz about this mysterious music festival. We didn’t know anything about the fest except it was two days long and would celebrate music, surf culture, and art.
Now after weeks of waiting and speculation, the line-up is here. It will feature…
Jack Johnson, Incubus, Blondie, Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals, Social Distortion, Brandi Carlilie, Frank Turner as well as Asbury locals like The Front Bottoms, Nicole Atkins, The Battery Electric, and our pals Deal Casino.
The show will take place on three stages at North Beach Asbury Park and Bradley Park.
There will also be a surfing competition featuring local legend Sam Hammer, and many other big wave riders. They include: Balaram Stack, Rob Kelly, Mike Gleason, Quincy Davis, Andrew Gesler, Pat Schmidt, Clay Pollioni, Tom Ihnken, Cassidy McClain. According to the release they “will take their talents to the water for Expression Sessions and more throughout the weekend.”
Produced by famed rock photographer Danny Clinch, music staple/film/event producer Tim Donnelly, and C3 Presents (the people Lollapalooza, Shaky Knees, and Austin City Limits) – Sea. Hear. Now is a two-day festival that will take place on the beach in Asbury Park, NJ on September 29, and September 30.
According to Clinch (via press release), “Sea.Hear.Now is a long time dream of ours. To have our musician, surfer and artist friends come to Asbury Park this September to play some music, ride some waves and make some art,” says Clinch. “We come from the Jersey Shore and we believe in Asbury Park. It is one of the coolest beach cities in America, if not the world. We are ready to go!”
