Netflix’s beloved comedy GLOW returns for its second season on Friday June 29.
The announcement came early April 18 with a Flashdance inspired music video set to the song “Maniac” by Michael Sembello (which was used famously in the film Flashdance.)
The sophomore season follow the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling, who have become local celebrities. With their newfound fame comes the highs, the lows, and ugly truth of fame.
This season will continue to focus on Ruth (Alison Brie) and Debbie (Betty Gilpin) and their relationship which still has a lot of fixing to do. Of course, the acerbic director Sam (Marc Aaron) is back and is now dealing with the realities of having a teenager daughter, and directing 20 episodes.
Rejoining Brie, Gilpin, and Maron are: Sydelle Noel (Cherry/Junkchain), Jackie Tohn (Melanie/Melrose), singer Kate Nash (Rhonda/Britannica), Britt Baron (Justin/Scan), Chris Lowell (Bash), Kimmy Gatewood (Stacey/Ethel Rosenblatt), Rebekka Johnson (Dawn/Edna Rosenblatt), Gayle Rankin (Sheila “the She Wolf”), Ellen Wong (Jenny/Fortune Cookie), Marianna Palka (Reggie/Vicky the Viking), and Season One favorite Britney Young (Carmen/Machu Pichu).
GLOW was one of the top series ranked in 2017 Best of TV, and we gave it rave reviews when it first aired.
