Review: Transformers vs. Visionaries #5

It finally comes to an end.

The main event consists of The Visionaries vs. The Darklings. The first half appears more of a quick recap and rushes through to the big battle. Battle lines are drawn, allegiances are made and Merklyn once again has the upper hand on everyone. As both sides are revealed to be pawns in a bigger game, we find the Transformers ultimately turn the tide.

It’s interesting how the Visionaries have been planted onto Cybertron. With IDW and Hasbro attempting to resurrect MASK, ROM, and Action Man, it now feels the other lines are an afterthought. ROM and The Micronauts end their run, and seems as though their story once again fit right back into the larger tale of the Transformers. With Unicron #0 hitting comic shops this week thanks to Free Comic Book Day, all of these series will wrap up and ultimately come to an end in the pages of Transformers.

The story of the Visionaries seems to conclude on a somber note, with Merklyn once again proclaiming his prophecy of the ultimate end. Guess what, this also ties right into Unicron.

The final issue of Transformers vs. Visionaries gets a 6 out of 10.
