In anticipation of the Season 2 finale of Westworld, Pop Break’s Josh Sarnecky and Bill Bodkin predict some possible outcomes for tonight’s episode.

Josh Sarnecky: Oh, Westworld. You’re such a charming, lighthearted romp! In all seriousness, though, I’m expecting quite a bloodbath in the show’s season finale.  We will presumably see the “present” timeline finally reach up to Bernard’s “future” timeline from the season premiere, which started with the Delos security team finding a lake full of dead hosts.  How exactly we get there still remains to be seen, but it looks like the finale will feature a face-off between Dolores (Evan Rachel Wood) and Bernard (Jeffrey Wright). Nothing is as it seems in Westworld (the show or the park), though, and I’m still waiting for a few major twists regarding the “future” timeline.

My guess is that Dolores succeeds and that the park (including the Mesa) will soon be full of replicas of guests posing as humans. In fact, I believe that the security team itself is already full of such guest-host hybrids and is going to kill the remaining humans.

Furthermore, I’m putting my money on Charlotte Hale (Tessa Thompson) being one of the humans that are actually guest-host hybrids.

Speaking of characters who are definitely dead, I’m expecting William aka the Man in Black aka the father of the year (Ed Harris) to finally meet his end after cheating death about a hundred times. That doesn’t mean we will have seen the last of William though. I suspect his replica will be the one to finally kill him and will replace him in the show’s next season. As for next season, I expect Dolores and William 2.0 to lead the remaining hosts and the replicas into the “real” world and continue Ford’s (Sir Anthony Hopkins) master plan.

Which won’t be violent at all. Just puppies and rainbows. Right?

Bill Bodkin: Lots of questions to be answered in the finale!

First — is The Man in Black a host? We saw him digging into his arm at the end of the penultimate episode. However, I have a feeling he isn’t a host. While, I like Josh’s theory, I think it’s ultimately Deloros who ends The Man in Black (the real person’s) run in the real world.

Second — what’s with all those bodies in the lake? I believe these are the host’s replicas that “went missing.” I won’t rule out that these are the original hosts and that they’re transposed their consciousness to their new forms.

Third — what’s the deal with Bernard? Is he going to stop Deloros? He’s the only one. Well, we know somehow, and someway he’s got to get to the beach for QA to pick him up. I think he will confront Deloros, but he’s going to ultimately aid her.

Four — will there be blood. Yes, so much.

Five — Maeve’s storyline. We know Maeve is leaving the Mesa, and I think ultimately will have some sort of closure with her daughter, but ultimately heads out to the real world. Some of her band of warriors will not be so lucky.

Six — We have not seen the last of Teddy Flood. I feel like there’s a replica out there.

Seven — Ghost Nation. You don’t introduce these guys in one of the best episodes in series history, and not have them in the finale. They will play a pivotal roll in this finale.
