DC dropped the first major announcement of San Diego Comic 2018.

The trailer for Titans, their first original piece of content for the new DC Universe streaming service, was unveiled to the SDCC crowd.

According to press release, “Titans follows young heroes from across the DC Universe as they come of age and find belonging in a gritty take on the classic Teen Titans franchise. Dick Grayson and Rachel Roth, a special young girl possessed by a strange darkness, get embroiled in a conspiracy that could bring Hell on Earth. Joining them along the way are the hot-headed Starfire and loveable Beast Boy. Together they become a surrogate family and team of heroes.”

The cast includes: Brenton Thwaites (Maleficent, Gods of Egypt) as Dick Grayson/Robin, Teagan Croft (Home and Away) as Raven, Anna Diop (24 Legacy) as Starfire, Ryan Potter (Big Hero Six) as Beast Boy, Minka Kelly (Almost Human, The Path) as Dove, Alan Ritchson (TMNT, Hunger Games) as Hawk, and Lindsey Gort (Carrie Diaries, Impastor) as Amy Rohrbach.

The trailer for the episode, comes off as a little CW-Freeform-ish at first…until Robin drops an unexpected “f bomb.” So this show definitely is not going to be your standard TV-PG fare.

DC also dropped some knowledge about their new streaming service. The cost for a year will be $74.99 plus tax ($7.99 per month). Subscribers will have access to new original content, past original content (including live action and animated), plus a “curated, rotating selection of comics.”

The service will be available on the following platforms: desktop, iOS, Android devices, Apple TV, Amazon Fire, Rook, Android TV, and Google Chromecast.
