When the news was announced earlier this year that superstar violinist Lindsey Stirling and Grammy-winning rockers Evanescence (both backed by a full orchestra) would be co-headlining a summer tour, you just knew it could be something really special. Both were red hot in 2017.

America fell in love with Stirling from her appearance on Dancing With The Stars. She may not have won the mirror ball prize but she won the hearts of many new fans. As soon as the show was done she followed that up with her Warmer In Winter Christmas Tour, which got rave reviews from critics and fans. Evanescence released their fourth studio album Synthesis, which was a re-imaging of some of their previous songs but backed by an orchestra. It got great reviews and they followed it up with a successful tour.

Evanescence started the night off with “Overture.” When Amy Lee walked out on stage towards her piano she was met with loud cheers. She was backed by her band and a full orchestra. They played many fan favorites which included “My Immortal” and “Bring Me To Life.” Fans were also treated to a great cover of the Beatles “Across the Universe.” Lindsey Stirling joined them on stage on “Hi-Lo,” a new song from their current release.

Amy Lee sounded as good as ever. Her booming gorgeous voice soared on “Lost in Paradise, “Imaginary,” and “Your Star.” Overall it was a hauntingly beautiful set.

Evanescence Setlist:

Overture
Never Go Back
Lacrymosa
End of the Dream

For the second half of the show Lindsey Stirling was simply spectacular. This definitely felt more then just a concert. It almost had a Broadway feel to it. There were beautiful backdrops, costume changes, dancers, fun props and stage sets along with beautiful visuals that were being projected onto a screen.

Stirling does more then just play her violin. She danced, twirled and in between songs, she inspired. Stirling talked about strength, persevering and the hard times in her life. She shared a lot but it wasn’t all serious. She flashed a video of herself at 15 where she was singing and dancing along to an Evanescence song.

Stirling started her set off with “Arena.” Her dancers, dressed in Skeleton outfits, romped around in a graveyard scene during the second song “Moon Trance.” The song “Take Flight” was an absolute stunner, with Stirling hovering high above the stage. Amy Lee returned the favor and joined her on stage for “Shatter Me.” There was great chemistry between her and the dancers. They really got the crowd going on “Roundtable Rival “and “Mirage” which had a middle eastern flair. Stirling ended the night with the popular Phantom of the Opera medley.

This enthusiastic crowd was treated to a really inspiring magical night of music.
