Review: Bone Parish #4

This review will have spoilers from previous issues. Only read this if you’re caught up or would like to catch up.

In Issue #3 some terrible things happened that I could never predict. I didn’t talk about it in my review as I didn’t want to totally spoil the issue. But, I have to go over it now in order to talk about current events. So, huge spoiler from Issue 3, one of the Winter’s children has been murdered by Rafael.

Grace is of course distraught. So much so that she’s used the last bit of her husbands ash. And, I’ve tried to not give this away in past reviews, but by this point readers are aware of this. It seems that if a person had a connection with the deceased that they can actually us ash for more than just getting high. They can literally commune with their spirit.

Well okay, honestly the communing with spirits thing is up for debate just like any after life type thing.

But, that’s how I interpreted it.

It could also just be a person high as a kite interacting with a hallucination. But, I like my spooky interpretation better. Anyway after Grace uses Ash to talk to Andre we have more insight on ash as we do every time we see someone use it.

After coming to terms with Wade being gone the family takes his remains home. As any family, I don’t think the Winter’s will recover quickly from this terrible loss. Especially with Wade being murdered brutally. This issue focuses a lot on what happens after the death of Wade. And, how the family goes about taking care of business, and dealing with Rafael.

Honestly there are so many spoilers in this issue that it was a real challenge to write a spoiler free review. So, good news readers, a ton of reveals about the Winter’s family and the inner workings of their business. And, of course this issue answers more questions about the drug ash. Bone Parish has a story that keeps diving deeper into drug induced hallucinations in very unpredictable way. I have loved this series so far, and this issue in particular will make readers that enjoy answers and action happy.

Rating: 8/10
