Caelynn and Hannah B. are still feuding. Chris comes in and tells the girls that they’re traveling somewhere that the show had never been before. The girls freak out before they even know where they’re going, which is funny because they could have been going to North Korea and they were still excited. Either way, they travel all the way to SINGAPORE!
Date 1 – Solo Date
Participants – Tayshia
Prompt – “Let’s fall in love”
“I’m really hoping that today we don’t die” – Colton
They start the date with Tayshia and Colton walking along the beach and the water. Tayshia hypothesizes that they’re probably going to be doing something with waterfalls, since they’re so close to the water… boy was she wrong! They approach a bungee jump tower and make their way to the top. Colton and Tayshia are both having panic attacks, but Colton decided to go first to put Tayshia at ease. Both eventually jump and feel great for themselves afterwards for having conquered such a feat.
During the dinner portion of the date, they sit at a beautiful outdoor dining area. Tayshia mentions to the camera that she has a heavy subject to breach with him and that she’s nervous. She confesses that she was married and got a divorce within the last year. That she was with him for six years and knew that it wasn’t going so well and decided to end it. Colton said that she made the best decision for her. And Tayshia said that the next time she gets married, she’s going to make sure it’s the right person. He gives her the date rose.
They end the date going onto the Singapore Flyer, which is the giant Ferris Wheel in Singapore. Of course, it stopped at the top and was very romantic. I can see Tayshia staying around for a few more weeks, but I’m not sure I see her being final four material.
Date 2 – Group Date
Participants – Hannah G., Elyse, Kirpa, Sydney, Heather, Onyeka, Tracy, Nicole, Demi, Courtney, Katie, Cassie, Hannah B.
Prompt – “Let’s get a taste of Signapore”
There are 13 women on this group date, which is tough because everyone is doing their best to steal his attention. Demi has been doing a great job of stealing his attention as much as possible. The group decides to go into a place with a person called the Leech Lady. The Leech Lady does leech therapy where she places leeches on people and they suck out all of the bad toxins. She places a leech on Colton, Sydney, Demi, and Hannah B.; Hannah B compares her leech to Caelynn. I feel bad because if she keeps hanging onto this rivalry with Caelynn, it’s going to end up biting her in the butt. The last thing they do in town is stop at a roadside fortune teller. Colton gets his fortune told with Cassie and the fortune teller says that Cassie is his past-life sister, which causes a big laugh. They then go to a restaurant and try bullfrog, pig feet, eel, intestines, and fish eyes.
The group starts the cocktail part of the date and Hannah B. steals him first. Once Hannah leaves the room, the girls discuss the elephant in the room being the rivalry between Hannah B. and Caelynn. Hannah B. talks to Colton about how she’s afraid that he might not trust her anymore, and he said that he doesn’t mind that they’re feuding. They cut to clips of Colton spending time with some of the other girls, and Courtney is sitting back and complaining about how she hasn’t really had the time with Colton that she needs. Demi tells her that she needs to get out of her own head.
Demi was sitting with Colton and decides to talk about her less wild-child side. She tells Colton that her mom was released from federal prison. She starts tearing up and honestly it was nice to see a different side of her. Meanwhile, Courtney is still sitting and complaining about how she hasn’t had time with Colton, and it seems like she’s waiting for him to approach her. The other girls tell her to go talk to him since some of the girls were already on their second round with him. And it was discovered that Demi went to talk with him again.
Courtney was a bit peeved when she approached Demi. Courtney’s logic was that she couldn’t believe Demi went to talk with Colton again after she had complained about not having time with him originally. For the first time, I actually agree with Demi. It’s not up to Demi or the other girls to make sure that Courtney gets time with Colton. That being said, she had a ton of opportunities to get up and approach him herself, but Courtney just waited for him to come up to her.
Colton gives the group date to Demi and Courtney storms away and ends up sobbing.
Date 3 – Solo Date
Participants – Caelynn
Prompt – “I’ve been waiting for this special day for so long… meet me downstairs”
Colton picks up Caelynn in this gorgeous blue Bentley. He tells her about how he plans on spoiling her today and that he doesn’t splurge often, so he wanted to spend it on someone special. They go to a designer who picks out clothes for her to try on. Everything she tries on looks awesome on her, and Colton looks so genuinely happy while shopping with her. They show Caelynn walking back into the hotel while holding SO MANY shopping bags. She is definitely flexing with all of her new shoes and clothes that she’s showing off in front of the other girls. The responses that she received were so fake from the other girls. The amount of jealousy and envy could have suffocated her.
During the dinner portion of the date, Caelynn shows up and she’s wearing one of the dresses that they got together during the earlier part of the date. Caelynn prefaces her story about how she had something to tell him that was very difficult for her. (Trigger warning regarding sexual assault) She tells him a rough story about how her and one of her friends were sexually assaulted at a frat party. She goes into details about how she was roofied and raped. She said that while it was happening, some of the guys from the school were filming the act. She even talked about how she went to a hospital for a rape kit, and they turned her away, which is apparently legal, so she then went to a different hospital and the rape kit came back inconclusive because too much time had passed between the incident and the second hospital visit.
Colton talks about how it was devastating that something like that happened to her. She admits that it has changed her interaction with men for the longest time. She also talked about how her mom eventually helped fight for her, even though it took her a year to even tell her mom that it happened because she was so embarrassed. Caelynn appreciated Colton taking the information so well, and he hugs her. She tells him that she feels so safe with him, and he calls her incredibly strong.
Once the date ends, before they cut to a commercial, they show a spotlight for RAINN. RAINN is the Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network nonprofit anti-sexual assault organization. Information is available at rainn.org and 1-800-656-4673.
Cocktail Party
Caelynn grabs Hannah B. for a second and pulls her away to talk with her. They address the awkwardness between them, and Caelynn suggests that they put the past in the past and support each other. Caelynn says they don’t have to be best friends, but they shouldn’t be upset while being in the same room. They apologize to each other and hug and actually resolve their issues! It’s nice to see two contestants work out their issues on their own.
Demi goes to talk with Colton and tells him that Courtney is the “cancer of the house”. She said that Courtney was verbally abusive and that she doesn’t think Courtney would be a good fit for him. As their conversation was ending, Courtney cut in for Demi’s time. Courtney then tells her side of the story from the group date. It seems that she spends her whole time with Colton just bashing Demi. Courtney says that Demi is just playing the game and it doesn’t matter that its him as the bachelor, she would have gone after anyone. Colton seemed distressed by that information. Both girls make it back to the main area and start getting catty with each other.
