First of all, I’d like to wish a happy Memorial Day to our troops and the family members of troops who have fallen.
Date 1 – Group Date
Participants – Johnathan, Matteo, John Paul Jones, Kevin, Jed, Tyler C., Mike, Cam
Prompt – “Let’s push our love to the limit”
First of all, none of the men are stoked to be on the group date with Cam. As a quick reminder, last week Cam crashed one of the group dates that was in progress because he wasn’t put on a date and he felt left out.
The men are brought to a fake hospital room where Jenny Mollen is pretending to give birth while Jason Biggs is dressed as a doctor and is pretending to deliver the baby. The two celebrities quiz the guys on female anatomy, specifically the female anatomy when women give birth.
The heavy-handed joke here is that the men don’t know much about pregnancy or female anatomy… shocker! The men then had to try on a vest that stimulates a pregnant belly and were complaining about the lower back pain they were feeling from that. After that, they then carried baby dolls and had to change diapers, cradle the baby, and breast-feed. In order to stimulate breast-feeding clothes pins clamped onto their nipples to stimulate breast feeding.
Then they hook men up to a device that will stimulate pregnancy pains. All of the men were like shaking and making funny faces and funny noises. All of the men handled it like a joke and seemed shocked at the actual pain that it causes. John Paul Jones starts reacting before he even feels anything, and he has the biggest reaction of all the men (at least from what they show us) Hannah is screaming because he was squeezing her hand so hard.
Cocktail party time! Hannah talks about how she has a really good connection with Jed. I think Jed could be final four material, if he doesn’t do anything to mess up his current connection with her. Afterwards, Mike talks with Hannah and tells a story about how his ex was pregnant and he was excited to be a father, but his ex lost the baby during her second trimester. Mike mentioned that today’s group date reminded him of that period of his life. He was getting choked up while delivering the story and it was pretty sad to watch.
Meanwhile, Cam came in and asked for his time with Hannah, and both Hannah and Mike asked for a few minutes and Cam said he would wait outside in the hallway. Mike went back to talking to her and Cam interrupted again to ask for time again. And I have to say that Cam looked like a dick because he kept interrupting such a serious story. And he said he would wait outside, but he KEPT coming in to get his time… I’m not sure if Mike actually took up a lot of Hannah’s time, and the segment was just cut in a way that made Cam look like a dick, or if he was interrupting so frequently. So, Mike finished up and walked back up to the guys and told them what happened.
Then Johnathan walked in on Cam and just swooped Hannah away from him but like in an uncomfortable kind of way. Cam kept trying to get him to leave, but Johnathan would not take no for an answer. Johnathan said, “What goes around comes around” to Cam and I’m excited to see what comes next between them.
Also, I would think that everything that happened with Cam and Johnathan would look really bad to Hannah on both of their ends. Cam interrupting Mike consistently wasn’t a good look, and Johnathan swooping in and aggressively pulling Hannah away from Cam also wasn’t a good look. So, after Johnathan was done with Hannah, and he was back sitting with the other guys, Cam sat next to him on the couch and just stared at him. There was no confrontation, but you could cut the tension with a knife. Hannah gave the date rose to Mike and said, “Bold can be shown in a lot of different ways” and I think she was hinting at Cam and Johnathan’s methods of being bold.
Date 2 – Solo Date
Participant – Connor
Prompt – “Let’s set sail on our love story”
After coming back from a commercial break, they show Hannah in an ambulance, hooked up to an IV, but they give no back story. I honestly thought there was an error on ABC’s side, but it ended up being current. Back at the mansion, Connor received a note that they wouldn’t be having their normal date because Hannah wasn’t feeling well, but that Connor should to go over to her hotel suite to keep her company. The first thing he does is pick her up flowers, a card, and some soup!
Hannah told him that she had basically passed out when she woke up and she had to go to the hospital. So, a lot of the date is just them laying in a bed and talking. Hannah eventually sent him away because she had to get some sleep but before he left, he left sticky notes all over the hotel for her to find that said things like “Your beautiful smile” which was SO sweet. He ended up back at the mansion without a rose. I’m sure the other men were thrilled to see that. Hannah discovered the notes and basically swooned while finding them.
A limo pulls up in front of the mansion and picks up Connor for the rest of his date. As soon as Connor meets up with Hannah, she gives him the date rose and leads him to a private Lukas Graham concert.
PS – Tyler G. apparently had to leave the show. They don’t disclose why on the episode; Hannah just mentions it in passing. I did a little digging online and found a few sources that said it had to do with his previous relationships.
Date 3 – Group Date
Participants – Garrett, Luke P., Brent, Grant, Peter, Luke S.,
Prompt – “A picture is worth 1,000 words”
This date will be a photoshoot group date, which is always fun to watch. The men are told that they’re going to be paired up with models, and of course they assume female supermodels, but then men discover that they’re paired with animals. Some of the men seem excited, and some seem a bit nervous, but overall it seemed like a good time.
My girl Demi is backstage spying on the men. She hired decoys to flirt with the men while her and Hannah are listening to their conversations with the decoys and unfortunately, no one strayed. I know it’s better for Hannah, but it would have been more exciting for me.
So, after doing their photoshoots with the pets, the men get their own photoshoots with Hannah. It becomes apparent that Luke P. is getting a bit jealous of seeing Hannah with the other guys and it seems that he’s starting to unravel.
During the cocktail party Hannah is wearing a dark blue sequin, deep-v, long sleeve romper. I really like it because it’s classy but fun. Hannah makes a toast with the guys to opening up to each other and having a good night. Hannah pulls Luke P. away first. She said to the camera that there’s a thin line between finding his connection with her really attractive and really repulsive. She told him that he needs to respect that she has other relationships here for herself. She said she wants him to change that behavior.
Luke P. tries to interrupt someone’s time and Hannah told him that she will talk to him later and it looked like she’s starting to get annoyed with him. He then proceeds to wait at the doorway for her to become available, while occasionally seeing if he could cut in on the time of other men. He asked for more time with her and she said she wanted to talk to all of the other men first. Hannah officially seemed done with How Luke P. was acting.
It looked like Hannah was about to give out the date rose and then she pulled Luke away and told him that she wanted him to work harder to remedy how he was acting today. She gives the date rose to Peter.
Cocktail Party
Chris came up to the men to mention that there would not be a cocktail party that night, but instead there would be a tailgate party. There’s football, cornhole, and a lot of fun! Hannah said to the camera that she wanted to have a relaxing night and enjoy her time. Immediately Cam pulled her away and told her a sob story. And every time they cut to Hannah and Cam, its literally a different sob story. There was something with his dad, something with surgery, something with his 10-month-old puppy… it was bizarre.
They show Hannah having a lot of fun playing around with the men. Mike talks to Hannah and realistically he twists Cam’s words to make it seem worse than it actually is. Cam said something along the lines of how he wanted time with her to talk to her about something serious, and Mike said that Cam was planning on tell her sob stories to get a sympathy rose. It felt like a stretch to me. Hannah talks to Cam and it doesn’t go very well. Hannah said it felt manipulative and she needed to think about it.
Rose Ceremony
Hannah is wearing a sequin (I’m seeing a theme here) burgundy red dress and matching burgundy lipstick.
