The episode, which features senior staff writer Josh Sarnecky, focuses on the 1944 Oscars aka the 17th Academy Awards. Nominated for Best Picture were: Going My Way, Gaslight, Double Indemnity, Since You Went Away and Wilson. Winning individual awards were: Bing Crosby (Going My Way),Ingrid Bergman (Gaslight), Barry Fitzgerald (Going My Way), Ethel Barrymore (None But the Lonely Heart), and Leo McCarey (Going My Way).
