HBO is going to have a major presence at San Diego Comic-Con 2019. In a press release that was dropped today, HBO announced it will bring Game of Thrones, His Dark Materials, and Westworld out to San Diego this year.
For those wondering about the debuting Watchmen series, HBO stated:
“Watchmen fans should keep a look out around the Gaslamp Quarter for a surprise in-world opportunity to engage with the new HBO series.”
The HBO experience will include panels, autograph singings and installations throughout the SDCC complex.
Thursday, July 18: His Dark Materials
Plot: “His Dark Materials is set in an alternate world where all humans have animal companions called dæmons, which are the manifestation of the human soul. The series follows the life of young Lyra (Dafne Keen), who is an orphan living with the teachers at Jordan College, Oxford. Like in Pullman’s novel, Lyra discovers a dangerous secret that involves Lord Asriel (James McAvoy) and Mrs. Marisa Coulter (Ruth Wilson). In her search for her missing friend, Lyra also uncovers a slew of kidnappings and its link to the mysterious substance called Dust.” The series is based on the book by Phillip Pullman.
