Young the Giant, Fitz & The Tantrums Turn Up the Heat in Miami

While America was in the midst of a record-setting temperatures, two alternative bands brought their own heat to the Bayfront Park Amphitheater in Miami, Florida. Young the Giant, along with Fitz & the Tantrums brought their a-game, despite the sweltering heat and humidity to a packed outdoor show.

The show opened up with a set from the band Coin. Following was an out-and-out dance party fueled by L.A. neo-soul alternative dance outfit, Fitz & The Tantrums. The crowd danced as the band rolled out their catalog of hits like “Moneygrabber,” “The Walk,” and “Hand Clap.”

As the sun set, and the stage lights flared up, Young the Giant brought that extra bit of guitar-driven alt-rock heat to the excitable Miami crowd. The crowd sang passionately, and dance to their favorite songs by the California-based alt heavyweights. The crowd lost their minds for the band’s seminal hits like “Cough Syrup,” and “My Body.” Nearing the end of the show lead singer Sameer Gadhia returned for an encore dressed in a navy blue cape that shined bright as the lights they had on the stage.
