We’re living our life a quarter mile at a time. Pop Break’s own version of Hobbs & Shaw, film editor Marisa Carpico, and staff writer George Heftler, team up not to tackle international criminals, but to review The Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs and Shaw.
The film has already racked up over $300 million worldwide, with over $108 million grossed in the U.S. alone — definitely added a little nitro to a stagnant summer box office.
This is the 9th film in the Fast & Furious franchise, and the first official spin-off (and given its success, we’ll definitely see more spin-offs). The film is directed by David Leitch who helmed the first John Wick, Atomic Blonde, and Deadpool 2. Chris Morgan (Fate of the Furious), and Drew Pearce (Iron Man 3) penned the film. It stars Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Jason Statham, Idris Elba, Helen Mirren, Vanessa Kirby, Eiza Gonzalez, Eddie Marsan, and WWE Superstar Roman Reigns.
The film follows Luke Hobbs (Johnson) and Deckard Shaw (Statham) who have to team up against a terrorist organization, Eteon. They are threatening to unleash a deadly virus on the world. Eteon puts Brixton Lore (Elba), “a cyber-genetically enhanced terrorist” at the helm of the plan. He’s a former MI6 agent who also happens to have a history with Deckard.
