The Walking Dead Season 10 Episode 10, ‘Stalker’ was just as intense and action packed as last week’s midseason premiere, but not with the awkward moment between Negan and Alpha that I frankly could have done without.
In this episode Gamma (Thora Birch)reaches to Alexandria and lets the survivors know that Aaron (Ross Marquand) and the others that went out to look for the Whisperers horde are in trouble. Father Gabriel (Seth Gilliam) and Rosita (Christian Serratos) don’t trust her, so they take Gamma to the prison cell to interrogate her to see what she’s not telling them. They asked what happened to her sister, and she told them she died, but then finally confesses to them that she killed her sister for Alpha (Emily Mortimer). Now that Father Gabriel sees she’s not holding anything back, he can trust her, and gives her a map to point out the location of where the survivors are located so a group can rescue them.
Meanwhile Beta (Ryan Hurst) is on the lookout for Gamma, and uses one of Dante’s (Juan Javier Cardenas) secret entrances to Alexandria. He comes up from the ground (on a gravesite) that pays homage to classic EC Horror comic images. In a brutal montage, Beta kills a couple Alexandria survivors in their homes and waits for them to turn into walkers. With no one to defend Alexandria, the town is slowly becoming overrun with the undead. Beta approaches Gamma at the prison cell and tells her to come with him so Alpha can make an example of her to The Whisperers, but she doesn’t listen to him and tries to escape. As she realizes that Beta won’t kill her there, she has him stop attacking survivors at Alexandria by saying she’ll go with him to Alpha.
As Beta and Gamma are heading back to The Whisperers, The Survivors that were out looking for the lost survivors ambush Beta, and think that Gamma was along side with him. She pleads to Father Gabriel to believe her, and he does so Gamma is now part of the Alexandria survivors.
My favorite moments from The Walking Dead Season 10 Episode 10, ‘Stalker’ was the fight between Alpha and Darryl. What looked like could have been the end of either due the bloody fight and small walker horde; Darryl is saved from Lydia (Cassady McClincy). She speaks to Alpha and says she’s no longer a Whisperer. She’s been observing both The Whisperers and The Survivors, and keeping to herself since she ran away in the first half of this season. As Alpha makes her way to the Whisperers, she’s preparing them for battle.
Looks like next Sunday is promising the beginning of a Whisperer war with Hilltop and Alexandria. I’m looking forward to see what happens to our undead survivors in this post apocalyptic world! Really wish this was the premiere episode for the midseason, I was more entertained with last nights episode than last weeks episode. It just had more to offer and actually a bit of horror elements with that EC Horror homage that excited me last night.
