Chris Harrison declared that this finale would be one of the most “controversial and shocking finales” that we’ve seen.
The Bachelor Season 24 Finale Part 1 beings with a cut away to Australia where Peter joined his family. They discussed Hannah Ann and Madison, and the complications that appeared with Madison involving the Fantasy Suites.
Hannah Ann met up with Peter’s parents. Hannah Ann looked like she got so emotional when she met them. Hannah spoke with both of his parents and they seemed to really like her. Peter admitted to his parents that he had no faults with Hannah Ann himself, but that his heart was still split between the two girls. And as Hannah Ann was leaving, Peter’s mom said to her “I feel like I’ve known you all my life.” It was painfully obvious that Peter’s parents loved Hannah Ann.
Next up was Madison seeing Peter’s parents again for a second time. As a reminder, Madison met Peter’s parents on her first one-on-one date with Peter. Before going in to see his parents, Madison spoke with Peter outside of the house. She basically told him that he was selfish by not listening to her during the Fantasy Suites shenanigans. Because she had spent so much effort working on their relationship, and by disregarding her words, she lost confidence in him and she was hurt by him. She told him that she was hanging on by a thread because she didn’t have confidence in them.
Madison told him that she’s fighting for this relationship (I don’t know why). But Peter acknowledged her fighting spirit, and they joked about the times they’ve had together. Then, as if nothing happened, Madison admitted that she loved him and she was planning on telling him during the Fantasy Suites episode, but she lost the opportunity. He started smiling like an idiot, because he got what he wanted. Peter then went to kiss her, and she leaned away, and he had the audacity to say “You just told me you loved me and you’re not going to give me a kiss?” which is fucking gross because she didn’t owe him anything.
Madison reintroduced herself to Peter’s parents. His mother was staring daggers at Madison the whole time she was there. Madison expressed the situation to his parents and admitted that she loved Peter. Peter’s dad asked if she saw the two of them being completely compatible. Madison admitted that there were differences between them, including her faith. He admitted that he could be stronger in that aspect. She then admitted that she wants what’s best for Peter and knows that if it’s meant to be it’ll be.
Peter’s mom asked Madison how important it would be for her to have someone who’s not exactly on her level of faith. She doesn’t want anyone to change Peter. Peter’s mom basically brought up that it wasn’t fair of Madison to come up with that ultimatum during the Fantasy Suites and Madison stood her ground to Peter’s mother and told her that even if sleeping with the other women was right for him, telling him how she felt was right for her and she had to do it.
Peter went back inside, and his mother was sobbing. She said that Madison wasn’t there for him. “Madison is a sweet girl, but Hannah Ann is an angel on earth.”
Peter’s family doesn’t understand why he isn’t just choosing Hannah Ann. He was telling them that they were only seeing this one flaw.
Peter’s mother started sobbing again “Hannah Ann loves you with all of your heart. BRING HER HOME” damn this is hard. It really feels like his mother is manipulating him. As much as I don’t like how Peter’s been handling things, it doesn’t feel like fair to him that they’re ripping Madison apart.
It’s so clear that he wants to pick Madison over Hannah Ann. I think the only thing that had Madison on an equal level of Hannah Ann is because she didn’t tell him she had loved him at that point. Once Madison told Peter that she loved him, he was smitten with her.
Peter and Madison went on a date into a helicopter over a spiritual mountain and then they picnicked together. Madison admitted to him that even though they both want this; she doesn’t feel like they would be able to give each other what they need. Madison said she’s willing to walk away so that he could find what he went on the show to find. He asked her why she didn’t think she was that person, and Madison said it was because they were two very different people. She doesn’t feel like he should have to change, and she also wouldn’t want to change, which honestly all makes sense. She said she didn’t know they were the best for each other, and he asked if she really believed that, and she said yeah. There’s a lot of sobbing, and then Madison went home.
They showed Peter waking up in his hotel room, devastated that Madison had walked away. Chris Harrison showed up and they discussed Peter and Madison’s relationship. Peter still had to go on a one-on-one date with Hannah Ann.
During their date, when Peter met up with her, she looked so happy to see him. OK MY HEART IS MELTING BECAUSE THEY’RE FEEDING BABY KANGAROOS. THEY (the baby kangaroos) ARE SO SEET AND SMALL AND ADORABLE! By the end of the date, I think Hannah Ann knew that something was wrong with Peter.
Peter met up with Hannah Ann at her hotel room. She had lit a ton of candles and was wearing a small dress with a push-up bra that was working overtime. Hannah Ann came across as a bit desperate because I think she realized that he was going to end things with her. So, she rambled for a bit before Peter interrupted her. He told her how he was feeling and told her about how he wasn’t 100% confident in their own relationship. Hannah Ann started crying and said she was hurt because she’s so sure about them and he’s not. She said she’s given and given and given and she wanted something in return. She also told him that he didn’t seem completely there, the way she is. Peter said he just wanted to be so certain about his decision. Hannah Ann admitted to just being at her breaking point. She is truly a trooper to put up with all of his bullshit through all this. And that’s how the The Bachelor Season 24 Finale Part 1 ended.
Here’s a prediction for tomorrow’s episode. Peter is going to be ready to propose to Hannah Ann and Madison is going to come back. I want to hope that Peter will do the correct thing and actually propose to Hannah Ann, but instead I know he’s going to choose Madison, even though she walked out on him twice at this point.
