Good Bye to All That Episode #8: Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

You can listen to all the previous episodes of Good Bye to All That on Pop Break TV podcast on SpotifyApple PodcastsAnchor and Google Podcasts.

This week on Good Bye to All That, The Pop Break’s TV Editor Alex Marcus is joined by Pop Break Senior Staff Writer (and former Television Editor) Aaron Sarnecky, who covered the show weekly for the site, to look back on seven seasons of ABC’s sci-fi/action/comic book series, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

They take a walk down memory lane, reminiscing over how they first fell in love with the series, while also discussing the series many highs and lows across its surprisingly long tenure on network TV.

Topics discussed include:

  • Favorite Seasons, Storylines, Characters
  • How the series evolved over the years
  • Time Travel as the main driver of the final season
  • How well Nathaniel worked as a villain
  • Our thoughts on Fitz missing out on most of the season
  • Our enduring love of Agent Sousa
  • How satisfying the season long arc felt and if it’s conclusion worked
  • Would we be happier with Season 7’s finale as the Series Finale or Season 5’s

You can follow host Alex Marcus on Twitter and Letterboxd and check out his film podcast Cinema Joes.

Editor’s Note: It’s sad to see Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. go (although I always hated typing out the acronym). This series was one of the longest running, current weekly episodic reviews we had on the site. Now only Monday Night RAW, Doctor Who and The Walking Dead has been the longest running weekly reviews we’ve run on the site. It was even cooler that we got to interview the entire cast at New York Comic Con years ago. Thanks to Aaron Sarnecky and Luke Kalamar who reviewed the show for us.
