Tonight, All Elite Wrestling presents a special episode of Dynamite entitled, ‘Homecoming.’

AEW has made Daily’s Place in Jacksonville, FL their home during the pandemic. They have run countless Dynamites at this arena over the past year and tonight at 8 p.m. EST on TNT they return to Daily’s Place for the first time since beginning to tour again.

As AEW has yet another stacked Dynamite, the big match is AEW’s EVP Cody Rhodes against a debuting Malaki Black. Black debuted on the July 14th episode of Dynamite (Fyter Fest Night 1) attacking Cody Rhodes and Arn Anderson. Black was recently released by WWE and after only having a 30-day no-compete clause is set for a huge first match against Rhodes.

As Rhodes continues to have stellar big matches in 2021, this one may be his biggest challenge yet. This match is being billed as the ultimate “Good Guy vs Bad Guy” match-up. Rhodes has a lot of momentum heading into this match as he has an 11-0 record for singles matches in 2021. However, Black is looking to make a huge impression in his first match in AEW.

Rhodes caught up with the media to discuss all of this. In a media call, Rhodes discussed:

  • His match against Malaki Black
  • AEW’S new community outreach program
  • Deathmatch wrestling
  • The Influence of legends backstage in AEW
  • AEW’s latest series, Rampage
  • Touring schedules for the rest of the year
  • Recent AEW rankings
  • Goals within the company
  • Future stadium shows for AEW
  • Bray Wyatt in AEW
  • The Nightmare Factory training school
  • His role as a coach at TV
  • Becoming a heel again
  • Fatherhood
  • The importance of connecting with an audience
  • The importance of building homegrown AEW wrestlers
  • And more!
