The Way Too Early Oscar Podcast: Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress

You can listen to The Way Too Early Oscar Podcast on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Anchor, Pocket Casts, RadioPublic, and Google Podcasts.

Don’t forget to check out our other podcast: And The Winner Still Is… a retrospective Oscar podcast hosted by Marisa Carpico (Film Editor at ThePopBreak.com) and Matt Taylor.

It’s the episode we’ve all been waiting for: the actresses! Marisa and Matt break down the Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress awards. From Marisa’s lifelong Kristen Stewart stanning to Matt’s intense appreciation for Nicole Kidman’s AMC promo, this episode is a heavy hitter.

This year, the nominees for Best Actress are Kristen Stewart for Spencer, Penelope Cruz for Parallel Mothers, Olivia Colman for The Lost Daughter, Jessica Chastain for The Eyes of Tammy Faye, and Nicole Kidman for Being the Ricardos.

The nominees for Best Supporting Actress are Judi Dench for Belfast, Jessie Buckley for The Lost Daughter, Arianna DeBose for West Side Story, Kirsten Dunst for The Power of the Dog, and Aunjanue Ellis for King Richard.

Check back tomorrow for our episode on the very controversial Fan Favorite award.

Don’t forget to check out these previous episodes:

Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor: Hosts Marisa Carpico (Film Editor at ThePopBreak.com) and Matt Taylor may not like talking about the boys, but they find some nice things to say about the leading and supporting actors nominated this year.

Best Director and Best Documentary: Hosts Marisa and Matt double up on episodes with the one category where they couldn’t watch every film and a Best Director race that’s gotten a little more awkward thanks to Jane Campion.

Best Live Action Short and Best Documentary Short: Hosts Marisa and Matt discuss two of the shorts categories. These are a depressing bunch of nominees, but there are some real gems to be found.
