On Friday September 9, the iconic German electronic group, Rammstein made their live debut at the home of the New England Patriots, Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, MA. In a venue so often filled with celebration and winners, Rammstein fit right in with extreme pyrotechnics, heavy metal theatrics, and a true spectacle of live music.

Like many artists performing this year, the show was originally scheduled in 2020, so this performance was a long time coming for the German band. Duo Abélard opened the show with their own music and even found time to include a piano rendition of a Rammstein track.

For fans who couldn’t find a cover satisfying enough, Rammstein played a two-hour set featuring 21 songs on two different stages. “Zeig dich” was an early highlight in the set and “Puppe” was unforgettable after a giant black baby stroller rolled onto the stage and burst into flames. Each song — including the band’s mega hit “Du Hast” and their latest single “Zick Zack” had its own moment to shine with unparalleled production and the crowd raged with every note played.

After quite a few rescheduled dates, Rammstein proved that this show was certainly worth the wait.
