If you thought Bruce Springsteen appearing as a surprise guest was strictly a New Jersey thing, The Boss proved you wrong tonight.
The Killers, who are on the second night (October 1, 2022) of their Imploding Miracle Tour, brought out Bruce Springsteen and his E Street saxophonist Jake Clemmons to a thunderous response to a jam-packed Madison Square Garden.
Springsteen, who just announced a brand new covers record dubbed Only the Strong Survive on Friday, performed his seminal classic “Badlands” with Killers lead singer Brandon Flowers. Clemmons channeled his uncle, original E Street Band member, Clarence Clemmons on the brass parts of the song from The Boss’ Darkness on the Edge of Town record. He then performed ‘Born to Run’ — the song of all Bruce songs. He also jammed with the band on their own track “A Dustland Fairytale.”
Pop Break was onsite to capture some of the wildly special cameo appearance. O course, this wasn’t the only cameo of the MSG run for The Killers. Opening act Johnny Marr brought out original Smiths guitarist Andy Rourke to perform a bunch of original songs from The Smiths.
