Dynamite 11/2 kicks off with JEFF JARRETT!?!?

Yep! Darby Allin versus Jey Lethal takes a turn when Cole Karter of The Factory arrives disguised as Sting. Distracts Darby and falls victim to a beat down until Sting’s theme hits, which is a second feint, which sees Jeff Jarrett come from behind and perform his trademark El Kabong, busting a guitar over Darby’s head.

Jarrett goes on the mic while Darby is in a pool of blood, taunting AEW fans about the company being a joke, and his legacy as a family in the wrestling business.

Darby is written off TV as all the dirt sheets reported he wanted, and now it seems Jarrett will attempt a hostile takeover.

An interesting video clip, showing the Young Bucks and Kenny Omega’s winning the Trios Championships being erased and replaced with Lucha Brothers’ win over the Dark Order. Hmm… what is being erased exactly?

Jon Moxley defeated Lee Moriarty

This was not a bad match at all. Sure, Moriarty had no chance of a clean win, or a win for that matter. We got to see a tougher side, as well as the announce team referencing how he was passed over by the Blackpool Combat Club.

Interview with Saraya and Dr. Britt Baker, DMD doesn’t exactly happen. She has a short one with Renee, then later Baker and Hayter have a backstage talk with Renee. It seems they are appearing to shoot on each other, but something about it feels off.

The Acclaimed celebrates the birthday of “Daddy Ass” Billy Gunn

Despite Swerve injuring both hands, Caster and Bowens present “Daddy” with new foam scissor fingers, in which they can “do the scissoring.” Fun little segment, also including a young fan with giant scissors. They offer Billy a certificate to be adopted as their “father” but before he can sign, The Gunn Club spoils it, and the rest of the Firm arrive to ruin the party.

This was fine, nothing major to be expected other than to further a feud.

Chris Jericho defeated Colt “Boom Boom” Cabana in a Ring of Honor Championship match

Colt was crying on his way to the ring. He’s a guy who always has heart for the wrestling business. Very good match with one scary moment with both falling off the top turnbuckle and to the ring apron. Ultimately, interference allowed Jericho to capitalize and hit a running Codebreaker for the win. Post match, Jericho and the JAS threaten to assault Ian Riccaboni, however Claudio and the BCC come to the rescue.

I also think this will culminate with Daniel Garcia finally turning on Jericho. AEW likes to play the long game with their storylines, sometimes a bit too long. Jericho did say in his pre-match promo he would face any Ring of Honor champion. Not specific to World champs.

Orange Cassidy retains the All-Atlantic Championship against Luchasaurus and Rey Fenix

This was a fun match. Hit the right notes, and it made sense. Keep the biggest threat out of the ring, Cassidy and Fenix had great chemistry. Fast forward to the finish, the Big Evil Dinosaur of Destruction looked to cause major harm to the champ on the entranceway, until Jack “Jungle Boy” Perry rushes and clobbers his former friend with a chair, then driving themselves down to the arena floor. In the fray, PAC arrives with the hammer, but Fenix refuses to cheat. Fenix goes for a springboard cutter, only to eat the Orange Punch for the pinfall.

Post match, PAC stomps away on Cassidy, who is then rescued by SHIBATA along with Rocky Romero, Trent Baretta, and Chuckie T.

We’re getting Shibata vs. Cassidy on Rampage. Holy crap.

Backstage, Swerve is with Big Boss Rick Ross celebrating, when Keith Lee rolls up looking nonplussed. Swerve and Ross try to smooth things over.

At Full Gear not only will The Acclaimed retain, but we will see the end of Swerve in Our Glory.

Pretty obvious at this point.

Jade Cargill retains the TBS Championship against Marina Shafir

A bad segment made worse with this ridiculous bit with Nyla Rose and Vickie Guerrero holding the TBS title hostage.

When I ask my twin 11-year-old girls who their favorite female wrestlers are, they tell me Bianca Belair, Sasha Banks, Riho, Bayley, and Thunder Rosa. They’ve seen Cargill, and she doesn’t make this list.

A creepy and exciting video promo featuring the “rebirth” of The House of Black. Oh this gave me chills, and confirms Malakai is NOT “Uncle Howdy.”

At Full Gear, Jamie Hayter finally gets her title match against Toni Storm.

Main Event of Dynamite 11/2: Samoa Joe retains the ROH Television Championship against Brian Cage via submission

Good match with big guys blasting with big moves, and for the majority of the match, Cage seemed to dominate quite a bit, which made Joe’s comebacks more exciting.

The post match saw Joe get ambushed by The Embassy, who are all driven off by one man, and that man, is WARDLOW. Oh wait, it’s not over yet…. OUT COMES POWERHOUSE HOBBS who decimates the big man with a Spinebuster into the SHADOW REALM.

Hobbs closing the show with a championship in hand? YES PLEASE.

Interesting times ahead for sure. With just weeks to go towards Full Gear, I imagine more matches to be announced with some high stakes to be on the line.

AEW Dynamite 11/2 is now on demand and streaming on the TBS app.
