Socially Distanced 141: The Cornetto Trilogy Rewatch Series: Hot Fuzz

Thanks for checking this post! If you can, please subscribe to the Socially Distanced Podcast on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Anchor, and Google Podcasts as we drop on our new day — Fridays! And while you’re there if you can give us a rate and review that’d be awesome!

The Socially Distanced Podcast is a podcast hosted by two pop culture obsessed dads who were stuck in quarantine and decided to take their Facebook messenger conversations and turn them into a podcast. In 2022 they brought their friend, a pop culture obsessed mom to the show, and things got even better!

Join hosts Al Mannarino, Amanda Rivas and Bill Bodkin as they discuss everything in the world movies, music, sports, television and pop culture — everything keeping them sane in this time of socially distancing. This podcast is powered by ThePopBreak.com.

Here comes the fuzz! The Cornetto Trilogy (aka The Three Flavours Cornetto) rewatch continues with Hot Fuzz. The 2007 action comedy, directed by Edgar Wright (who co-wrote the film with Simon Pegg) stars Pegg, Nick Frost, Jim Broadbent, Timothy Dalton, Olivia Colman, Paddy Considine, Rafe Spall, Billy Nighy, Cate Blanchett, Martin Freeman, Steve Coogan, Lucy Punch, Billie Whitelaw, Bill Bailey, Kevin Eldon, Paul Freeman, Edward Woodward, Rory McCann, Stephen Merchant, Stuart Wilson and David Bradley.

Al Mannarino, Amanda Rivas and Bill Bodkin are joined by comedian Melissa Jouben who helped inspire the rewatch series during our Spaced episode from last year. On the episode they discuss the immense amount of quotable lines from the film, the staggering amount of references and running gags, the action sequences, the love between Nicholas Angel & Danny Butterman, Point Break, and how the film has aged since its released 16 years ago.
