As 2023 comes to an end NXT will put on their last event of the year in NXT Deadline. This show will feature two Iron Survivor matches, a women’s steel cage match, a premium live event debut, and more! Now let’s just hope I can end my year with perfect predictions…
Pre-Show: Axiom vs Nathan Frazier:
This match was supposed to happen on the last episode of NXT until every female competitor in the Iron Survivor match interrupted it. This should be a great match as both are very skilled wrestlers within the NXT brand. The momentum seems to be on Axiom, however, so let’s go with him.
Winner: Axiom
Main Show: Steel Cage Match: Roxanne Perez vs Kiana James:
This is the match I am most looking forward to on the card. If you are new here, I am here to inform you that I have been a huge fan of Perez since day one. At this point in Rox’s career, she needs to move up to the main roster. She has done everything she can do in NXT and it is time to take those skills up to the main roster. With that being said Kiana James will take the win here, possibly with the help of a returning Cora Jade.
Winner: Kiana James
NXT North American Championship: Dominick Mysterio vs Dragon Lee:
Unfortunately, Wes Lee will not be in this match due to injury, but Dragon Lee will be the one to get the job done. Since Mysterio is heavily involved on Raw and Smackdown he does not need the North American Championship anymore. Dragon Lee is someone who can carry that mid-card division on NXT and elevate those who are to come after him.
Winner: “And New” Dragon Lee
Carmelo Hayes vs Lexis King:
Well, this sure is a match that is happening on this card. To me, this match is going to prove if WWE signing King was the smart decision because if he does not deliver here then you can expect these disappointing matches to continue throughout his NXT career. Although he does not deserve the win, King will get this one because every big star that debuts in NXT never loses their debut match.
Winner: Lexis King
Women’s Iron Survivor Challenge to Determine the Number One Contender for the NXT Women’s Championship: Tiffany Stratton vs Lash Legend vs Blair Davenport vs Kelani Jordan vs Fallon Henley:
The summit segment that these women had this past Tuesday sold me on this match. To me, this is the hardest match to pick on the card because you can make a case for every woman in this match that they deserve to be the number one contender. They had the underdog win this match last year, so let’s go that route, give me Kelani Jordan.
Winner: Kelani Jordan
Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge to Determine the Number One Contender for the NXT World Heavyweight Championship: Bron Breakerr vs Dijak vs Trick Williams vs Tyler Bate vs Josh Briggs:
Since Bate is scheduled to go to the main roster soon and to me, Breakerr has no reason to win the title back you can take both of them out of the odds for winning this one. I think the story in this one is having Williams take it. This furthers the feud between him and Hayes plus you can even have Hayes screw him out of winning the title whenever he evokes his title match.
Winner: Trick Williams
NXT World Heavyweight Championship: Ilja Dragunov vs Baron Corbin:
I’m not sold on this match. I feel like there are a lot more viable contenders within the NXT brand that could have been the ones to challenge for the title on this show. Corbin will do the job and put the champ over in this match, I think one of the Iron Survivor matches should main event over this match, they have that big fight feel, unlike this one.
