Netflix’s Love Is Blind keeps fans coming back for more season after season, and it’s not hard to see why. The drama, both on and off screen, have been taken to new heights with every episode, especially with how many cast members have taken to TikTok to delve into the gossip, poke fun at themselves – or others, and spill the beans about what truly happens in the pods, and after. Still, Love is Blind Season 6 felt slower than most of the previous seasons, with the exception of Season 5, which felt quite hollow and mostly focused on two pairings.
We mainly focused on five couples this season: AD and Clay, Chelsea and Jimmy, Amy and Johnny, Brittany and Kenneth, and Laura and Jeramey. The season is filled with a healthy dose of drama, sweet moments, and intervention from past pod relationships. We did get to see more couples and their journeys, which made this season more exciting than the last. As usual, only one couple seems like they will get engaged with the editing, and that’s what happens. This time around, only two couples made it to the altar, and one ended up saying “I do.” Overall, this season left us with a lot of question marks, especially after all of the posts on social media. But a lot of the cheating scandals and accusations made it to the reunion – including Jeramey and Sarah Ann’s relationship and Trevor supposedly having a girlfriend at the time of filming (which was revealed on TikTok as the show was airing).
It’s good to see that they do address these topics during the reunion, because it’s really what fans were curious about and occurrences that don’t get addressed onscreen. It’s also interesting that they focus on some of the previous cast members who are there for the reunion, with a Q&A portion, which is a big change. It seems they’ve taken some notes from the past reunions and implemented some shifts, since the old reunion formula began to lose its luster. Still, it’s taken us weeks to get here as they dropped fewer and fewer episodes each week, and a lot of the series lost its hype with everything being spilled on social media. There’s always a lot of room for improvement with this series, and dropping more episodes at once is a change they really need; the shorter drops result in less happening each week and the buzz falling flat.
One thing to note is that some cast members will be starring in Perfect Match next season – namely Micah, Izzy, and Jess (who is the only confirmed member from this season). Perfect Match has starred many LIB alumni, so it will definitely be interesting to see some recent cast members on screen again.
In true LIB fashion, they don’t tackle all of the topics of interest in the reunion, or even address if some of the couples who broke up are now back together, which left fans with more questions. There’s no doubt that we’ll find out these answers on social media yet again, or perhaps they’ll uncover even more in the After the Altar episodes that will come to Netflix soon enough!
