Socially Distanced #233: What We Do In The Shadows Spectacular + NYCC 2024 Recap

The Socially Distanced Podcast was created by two pop culture-obsessed dads during COVID who decided to take their Facebook messenger conversations and turn them into a podcast. In 2022 they brought their friend, a pop culture-obsessed mom to the show, and things got even better!

Join hosts Amanda Rivas and Bill Bodkin as they discuss everything in the world movies, music, sports, television and pop culture — everything keeping them sane in this time of socially distancing. This podcast is powered by ThePopBreak.com.

Socially Distanced welcomes you to the second of their two-part Halloween Spooktacular series! This episode they head to Staten Island to discuss FX’s hit series What We Do in the Shadows — which is currently entering its finale season.

“The Human Star Wars” Encyclopedia” Amanda Rivas is in the host seat for the episode she curated — as it turns out that her co-host Pop Break’s editor-in-chief Bill Bodkin has never watched the series. At this point are you even surprised he hasn’t watched something very popular?

They are joined by Gigi Ford from the Conculture Podcast who also happens to be a diehard fan of the series. In this episode they discuss the Jackie Daytona-centric episode “On the Run,” the star-studded “The Trial” and the very bloody “Nouveau Théâtre des Vampires.” They discuss Bill’s enjoyment or lack thereof (we’re not telling you) of the series, why Gigi adores the show and doesn’t want it to end, and Amanda’s love of all things from her favorite “human bartender.”

In the pre-game they discuss the news from New York Comic Con 2024 including all the big anime news, cosplay, Marvel working with Magic the Gathering, Creature Commandos, Daredevil: Born Again and Marvel’s post Blood Hunt storyline — “One World Under Doom.”
