A couple of months ago, I wrote a preview article on the second annual Rebel Scum Con being held from August 8 – 10, 2025 at the Embassy Suites Dallas Frisco Hotel & Convention Center.

The Fla-Emo of my heart, Branden Vice, and I have returned from a galaxy far, far away and here is our con recap:

Friday’s festivities kicked off with a variety of panels on topics such as cosplay tips and tricks, Star Wars collectibles, movie props, and movie set creation.

Rebel Scum Con also collaborated with The Virtual Cantina Network to host a Boonta Eve: Special Edition Texas celebration that offered live band karaoke, Sabacc gaming tables, and celebrity meet and greets with special guests from the Star Wars Universe including:

  • Diana Lee Inosanto (Morgan Elsbeth – Ahsoka)
  • Taylor Gray (Ezra Bridger – Star Wars Rebels)
  • Anna Graves (Dutchess Satine – Star Wars: The Clone Wars)
  • Omid Abitahi (Dr. Penn Pershing – The Mandalorian and Amis – Star Wars: The Clone Wars).

Unfortunately, we did not attend this event due to our travel schedule and missed out on Matthew Wood (General Grievous, Bib Fortuna) and David W. Collins (PROXY – The Force Unleashed) singing their cover of “Major Tom (Coming Home)” completely in Hutese.

For those of us who missed out on Boonta Eve, Rebel Scum Con added Diana Lee Inosanto, Anna Graves, Taylor Gray, Omid Abitahi, Christopher Sean (Kaz Xiono – Star Wars Resistance) and Nelson Lee (Senator Hamato Xiono – Ahsoka) as additional guests to an already stacked line-up. Featured guests included Katee Sackhoff (Bo-Katan Kryze), Sam Witwer (Maul, Galen Marek/StarKiller, The Son, Palpatine), Kyle Soller (Syril Karn – Andor), and Matthew Wood.

Saturday was an amazing day filled with incredible collectibles and artwork, on-site tattoo booths, a small lifelike Sabacc gaming area, amazing cosplays, diverse panels, and so much more. Panel topics included:

  • The Bad Batch Reunion with Michelle Ang (Omega), Rena Owen (Taun We), Gwendoline Yeo (Nala Se), and Noshir Dalal (Vice Admiral Edmo Rampart)
  • Darkside of The Clones Wars with Sam Witwer and Matthew Wood
  • An Animation Celebration with Taylor Grey, Anna Graves, and Christopher Sean, and so much more.

We sat in the Andor panel with Kyle Soller and Pierro Niel-Mee (Erskin Semaj) with topics such as costume design,The Ghorman Massacre, smuggling Mon Mothma out of the Senate, and THAT moment between Syril and Cassian discussed. We were even asked to enter the cosplay contest in our Spaceballs cosplays and received honorable mention with an original Moana 2 Mandalorian in full coconut armor winning the grand prize. A very lifelike miniature Cad Bane won the children’s cosplay contest.

A live filming of The Sackhoff Show started Sunday’s closing festivities. Several panels including Skywalker Sound with Matthew Wood and David W. Collins, Creator Panel featuring several notable content creators like Carly King, Balance of the Forces, and DadVader, and The Force Unleashed Reunion with David W. Collins and Sam Witwer, took place. And attendees still had plenty of time to get any last autographs and photos with guests.

Overall, this con is a must for all Star Wars fans with a great location, outstanding marketing and event planning team, helpful signage and friendly volunteers to guide everyone to locations throughout the con, a well-organized professional photo opportunity process, a high number of Star Wars guests in one location, and most importantly, a very positive tone and genuine love of Star Wars conveyed throughout every aspect.

We are already planning to come back next year, so do not forget to follow Rebel Scum Con on all social media for future event dates. May the Schwartz Be With You!
