Brigitte Calls Me Baby Bring Their Retro Sound to Philly’s Foundry on a Genre Bending Night

Pop Break Live: Brigitte Calls Me Baby “North American Tour 2026” with Skorts at The Foundry at The Fillmore in Philadelphia, PA on Tuesday May 12, 2026.

Brigitte Calls Me Baby brought their throw back sound to The Foundry at The Fillmore in Philadelphia on May 12th and performed to a sold-out crowd.

BCMB brought along four-piece Brooklyn-based indie rock band Skorts, who had a breakout year in 2025 with their critically acclaimed debut album Incompletement. Since then, they’ve been showered with stellar reviews for their high-energy shows and for their musicianship. That description was spot on for this show as well. The band’s sound runs the gamut of punk, glam and ’90s alt— all performed with some serious ’70s swagger and showmanship.

Lead by charismatic frontwoman Alli Walls, Skorts performed a short buzzworthy set that really riled up the crowd. They opened the night with “R4DR4M”(Run For Miles Run for Days). Other songs that stood out were “Near is the Light” and “Eat Your Heart Out.” Their harmonies during the set were great. The band ended the set with “Steal The Night.” They got a great response from the crowd. Skorts really set the tone for what would be an incredibly memorable night of music.

Brigitte Calls Me Baby, a band whose retro-nostalgic sound is receiving a lot or critical praise, arrived on stage to loud cheers from the crowd. The band is popular in the tri-state area because local Philadelphia tastemaker radio station WXPN staunchly supports them. Lead singer Wes Leavins was dressed in a sharp black suit and looked effortlessly cool. That look, even down to his hair style, invokes images of crooners from the ’50s and ’60s. He was backed by a four-piece band which was incredibly tight throughout the entire set. They opened with “Truth is Stranger than Fiction,” one of the great new songs from their album Irreversible, released on March 13th.

The band played a high energy guitar driven 14-song set. Leavins’ vocals on “Too Easy” were stellar. The song was a big crowd-pleaser, as were “Palm Of Your Hand” and the catchy “We Were Never Alive.” The crowd screamed when they heard the very recognizable opening chords to “I can Take The Sun Out of The Sky,” which was one of the best songs of the night.

The band truly has mass appeal. In looking around at the crowd, there was a big Gen-Z presence yet a lot of middle aged and older fans loving the bands vintage sounds and vibes. They played two fast paced songs “Slumber Party” and “Impressively Average” back to back and brought the fans to a feverish pitch as they sang, danced and clapped along. BCMB encored with “I Danced With Another Love In My Dream” and “The Future Is Our Way Out.”

What a great show. From the first note of the opener to the last encore, the night was electric!
