Iconic singer-songwriter Tori Amos stopped in at The Met in Philadelphia on her worldwide tour “In Times of Dragons” in support of her album of the same name.
The show opened with singer-songwriter Bartees Strange who played a short, soulful, genre-bending intimate acoustic set which was well received. He performed a request from the crowd of “Ain’t Nobody Making Me High” as well as his infectious 2025 single, “Sober” off his album, Horror.

Screams filled The Met the moment Tori Amos walked out on stage. A dramatic projection of a dragon on the backstage curtains matched the theme from her newest release. Her album had a theme of democracy versus tyranny and focused on political shifts and personal transformation. She was backed by a drummer, a guitarist, and three phenomenal backup vocalists she affectionately called her angels. Amos started the night off with “Fire to your Plain,” a song from her 2009 album Abnormally Attracted to Sin. She is truly beloved by her fans so it was no surprise how incredibly vocal they were during the entire evening.
Tori’s staunch fans really reacted to “A Sorta Fairytale,” “Spring Haze,” and “Bliss,” but the stunners were “Putting the Damage On” and a masterful eight-minute, goosebump-worthy version of “Little Earthquakes.” “Big Wheel” was a fun upbeat song that got the crowd clapping. Fans were treated to a cover of Bruce Springsteen’s song “Streets of Philadelphia” from the film Philadelphia starring Tom Hanks and Denzel Washington. Amos ended her set with “Pretty Good Year” off her seminal 1994 album, Under the Pink. This was a great crowd, you could really feel the camaraderie. Cheers to this artist who still inspires us.
