AEW Dynamite Blood and Guts 2026: The Women, Once Again, Deliver Big on AEW’s Most Violent Night

With the special supercard on the AEW Dynamite Blood and Guts 2026, there isn’t much to say to hype it up. Two big matches tonight, two rings, double wide steel cage. The women’s match is up first. All twelve women involved have huge beef with each other, and the added twist is the Brawling Birds and WrathLander will face off for the AEW Women’s World Tag Team Championships at Full Gear. Persephone and Queen Aminata are not done with each other. Triangle of Madness has hate for everyone.

TBS Champion Queen Aminata, AEW Tag Team Champions Jamie Hayter and Alex Windsor, Harley Cameron, Kris Statlander, and Willow Nightingale defeated Thekla, Julia Hart, Skye Blue, Lena Kross, Megan Bayne, and Persephone

Starting off are Megan Bayne and Kris Statlander. They waste no time in bringing in the plunder with evil intentions. Bayne is busted open early thanks to multiple chair shots. As a woman from each team alternates into the match, the action becomes more violent. Bayne appears to have taken the worst of the carnage, her face nearly unrecognizable with blood. Persephone was able to remain largely unscathed, but took one hell of a leap off the cage wall with a splash through a table. Harley Cameron held her own extremely well, and it is a testament to how much she has grown in AEW. Skye Blue and Julia Hart seem to enjoy these hardcore contests, having no problem using or being hit with barbed wire. This might not have been a match to expect Queen Aminata in, but she certainly held her own and got dirty with the rest of them.

Julia Hart was forced to submit to a dual submission with Cameron and Statlander. When you have barbed wire wrapped around your face and in your mouth, tapping out seems logical.

An extremely well done match.

Backstage: Andrade promo, discussing his upcoming match on Collision against Tommaso Ciampa.

Next backstage segment, Renee tries to get a word with Swerve Strickland, but they are interrupted by Austin Creed who demands answers from Swerve. Before they get into it, Kofi is attacked by Bandido. Creed tries to help but is also taken out by a Justice-Seeking Bandido. As Swerve strikes, the two fight it out to the entrance way. Bandido appears to have the upper hand, until Creed returns but it takes interference from Prince Nana and an army of referees to stop the violence. Brody and Hangman come out as well. Hangman tries valiantly to calm his teammates, but to no avail. Brody and Bandido want it… They want TEXAS DEATH.

It is amazing. This long-term story of Swerve manipulating everyone to get what he wants. EVERYONE. He brings in Creed and Kofi. They don’t hate anyone. But suddenly Swerve and Hangman start clashing again. Then they lose the World Trios Championships. Swerve gets mad. His feud with Hangman heats up again to a point where Swerve wants Texas Death, but no one else does. Hangman pleads with everyone to have cooler heads. Swerve is anything but. He attacks Bandido. Brody King is upset and wants revenge. Now he gets Creed and Kofi caught in the middle, creating more animosity. Everyone wants Texas Death, and Hangman, resigned, realizes he must cave in and agree to a match he desperately wanted to avoid for everyone’s. Hangman has failed. He knows Swerve has won.

Backstage segment: The Conglomeration meet with Jon Moxley about their upcoming match at Full Gear. It seems Mox acknowledges he needs help to have a chance against The Cut. Mox also acknowledges the history between himself and Orange Cassidy, Kyle O’Reilly, and Roderick Strong. He then slides a fork, which resembles the fork missing from my drawer to OC.

I like this side of Mox. Still in a leadership role, but also a moment of humility and vulnerability to recruit allies for Anarchy in the Arena.

Mercedes Mone and Marina Shafir have some intense words for each other, until the inevitable fight. This time, Mone manages to come out the aggressor. Not their strongest segment, but this time Mone is left with the upper hand, making her a threat come Full Gear.

Mens’ Blood and Guts

Kyle Fletcher and Darby Allin kick off the Men’s Blood and Guts match. They tear into each other and it is not long before both are bloodies. Darby is insane, the bumps he takes are so hard to watch. Doyle, Copeland, the Jacksons all gradually enter the match. Wardlow enters, mauling everyone, and somehow he spills blood from inflicting damage on everyone else. Did he get stung by a bee or something?

Copeland came out after Davis, and despite the music being cut, the fans continued to sing while he gave out chairshots to everyone! One for you! And you!

Steve Borden enters to the delight of women everywhere. He delivered lariats and corner splashes. Then grabs a bag from under the ring, which is clearly confirmed as thumbtacks! He attempts to throw opponents, but unsuccessful as he winds up being planted flat on his back atop the thumbtacks by Davis and Doyle.

Okada embraced the comedy. He comes to the ring with a leafblower of all things, and clears the thumbtacks out of the ring. Wardlow grabs Darby’s backpack which everyone pleads with him to put down. He was not around when those shenanigans took place, leaving him confused as to why everyone is panicking. When the bag exploded, he understood, at that moment, he messed up. He then took the brunt of an exploding chair-assisted superkick.

The carnage continues as Ospreay, the final entrant of the match enters and all hell breaks loose, if you can believe it. Ospreay is busted open courtesy of a coast-to-coast with a barbed wire chair to the face. Darby and Wardlow take the fight to the floor, then up on top of the cage ceiling.

As The Don Callis Family gain the advantage, Cope is chained by his neck to the cage, the Jackson boys are at the mercy of Davis and Doyle. Darby is mauled by Wardlow, and Fletcher has Ospreay dead-to-rights with a screwdriver to his neck. Fletcher puts the microphone to Copeland, who realizes it’s all over. He surrenders, giving the win to the DCF.

Except Fletcher was not satisfied. He tells Wardlow to finish Darby Allin for good, throwing him off the top of the cells through stacked tables on the floor. Good grief.

This was a hell of a show. A bloodbath promised and delivered. How any of them will have the energy next week is beyond me.
