Celebrity Big Brother Season 3 Week 4 Review: Celebrities Can Lie, Too

“The Closet Champion” Mike Mueller is back to review Celebrity Big Brother Season 3 Week 4  (Episodes 8 and 9).

Episode 8: A TEST OF ENDURANCE

Following Chris Kirkpatrick’s elimination, a new Head of Household competition begins, and it is a Big Brother classic: the endurance competition. The houseguests have to stand against a wall on a narrow platform, holding onto handlebars as the wall leans and tilts at all sorts of angles. On top of that, the celebrities are pelted with paint, cold air, and feathers to distract them and make them uncomfortable. The premise is simple: the last one standing on the wall wins.

Lamar and Cynthia are the first two to drop, which is unsurprising since they are two of the older houseguests, and this endurance competition is definitely a young person’s game. Todd held on for over 50 minutes but eventually was the next to go, bringing the competition down to Todrick, Carson, and Shanna. Carson and Shanna are in the minority alliance in the house, but Todrick definitely seems more built for this sort of competition.

As time goes on, fatigue starts sinking in for Shanna, and while she made it almost to the one hour mark, she eventually falls, leaving Todrick and Carson as the last two standing. Always the savvy game player, Todrick decides if he can get a deal out of Carson, it might be in his best interest to drop. Carson agrees to not put up Todrick or backdoor him if the veto is used, and Todrick drops. Carson winning is huge for the minority alliance, and now Miesha is looking like she will definitely be in the crosshairs.

A CHANCE TO FLIP

After Carson’s win, he, Shanna, and Cynthia celebrate in their bedroom, and when it comes time for Carson’s Head of Household room reveal, Miesha chooses to be a bitter Betty and stay downstairs to sulk. Not a good look for the UFC fighter, given that Todrick, Lamar, and Todd all did the classy thing and congratulated Carson and shared in his moment.

Later on, Todrick is in the room with Cynthia, Shanna, and Carson. Carson promises Todrick that he will stick to his word and not put Todrick up no matter what, but says if Todrick wins Power of Veto, he’d like Todrick to keep the nominations the same and not pull down Miesha. He offers Todrick a chance to reform the original Formation alliance and have it be those four at the end.

While it seems to be a pretty good deal for Todrick, he runs right to Miesha and lets her know what was just offered to him. Instead of considering the offer, Todrick thinks his best move is to try to tell Carson that Shanna was working with them early on and had an original final four deal that didn’t include Carson or Cynthia. While his plan makes sense, Shanna just saved Carson from certain elimination a few days ago, and it seems very unlikely Carson would pass up this chance to instead take out one of his closest allies. It is a Hail Mary attempt for sure.

 THE HOUSE EXPLODES

Todrick’s Hail Mary pass seems to have landed, as he talks to Cynthia and Carson in the bathroom and convinces them that Shanna is playing them and that Shanna, Chris Kirkpatrick, Todrick, and Miesha had a final four deal. For some reason, Cynthia and Carson both tend to believe this, despite the fact that Chris Kirkpatrick took out Todrick and Miesha’s number one ally in Mirai, and Shanna used her power of veto to save Carson last week. Admittedly, Shanna doesn’t do the best job of explaining herself, but if actions truly do speak louder than words, the truth should be evident.

Carson ends up sticking with the original nominations of Miesha and Todd, but the focus now seems to be on back-dooring Shanna. If this plan goes through, Carson and Cynthia deserve to go home, and Todrick and Miesha deserve to win, despite being liars.

Episode 9: DUPED

If this whole show business thing ever stops working for Todrick, he could be one hell of a used car salesman. Carson and Cynthia are completely convinced that Todrick and Miesha are telling the truth. The majority of the episode focuses on Shanna’s attempting to convince Carson and Cynthia that she is with them and them brushing her off in the nicest way possible, letting her know that her only way of surviving this week is to win veto. With only seven people remaining, her odds of playing in the veto are pretty good.

Unfortunately for Shanna (and everybody with a heart), Shanna is the lone person not chosen to play in the live veto competition, which is a race to build a large Tetris-like puzzle. Todrick wins the veto competition and takes Todd off of the block. Carson puts up Shanna and she is eliminated on a unanimous vote. Todrick and Miesha have officially pulled off the biggest move in Celebrity Big Brother history, and will have the easiest road to the finals since Derek in BB16. It’s really disappointing, as Chris Kirkpatrick gave up his game for literally no reason, and Carson and Cynthia have sliced their own throats. They’ll see the truth when the season is over, but by that point it’ll be too late, and Todrick or Miesha will be $250,000 richer.
