On May 22nd, The Warning brought their Error Tour to Baltimore Soundstage. Fans flooded the venue in eager anticipation of seeing the three sisters bring their trademark rock to stage. Accompanying The Warning on tour and opening the night was Holy Wars and Plush. To say it was intense would be an understatement. Holy Wars and Plush put on such a high energy show that the concert could easily have been billed as a triple headliner.
Holy Wars Slays Baltimore
Holy Wars lived up to their name and launched an attack that slayed Baltimore, taking no prisoners. The three-piece band from Los Angeles showed Baltimore how to start a night off right. Leading the way was Kat Leon, who opened the night with playing “21st Century Bitch,” a dark and rebellious infectiously catchy anthem off their debut album “Eat it Up, Spit It Out.” With their debut album starting off so strong, and the band leaving a sea of new fans in the wake of their set, Holy Wars is sure to conquer the music scene.
The sincerity behind their performance is one I respect; from their energy to their lyrics, Holy Wars is unapologetically sincere. Kat isn’t shy about making the lyrics, music, and performance personal, and it shows in how she easily bonded with the audience. Watching her climb over the barricade and onto the shoulders of security to move through the crowd, singing her heart out all the while, was a great example of their style of music: Real and in your face in the best of ways. The songs are relatable, perhaps uncomfortably so for some, but I found comfort in the fact that such sincerity was part of their creative process. Music speaks truth, and, while sometimes that truth might be ugly, it must be heard.
Holy Wars is here, loud, and proud, and they’re here to slay.

Plush Brings Their Own Brand of Rock to Shake the Walls of Soundstage
I wasn’t prepared for the shear level of rock stardom I’d witness by seeing Plush live. The four-piece, all-female band, led by vocalist Moriah Formica, put on an arena-level show. Baltimore Soundstage was never the same once they took to the stage. Plush is bringing back rock in all its rebellious glory and taking no prisoners. To pay homage to their inspirations, they played a phenomenal cover of KISS’ “Heaven’s on Fire” and absolutely owned their cover of Heart’s “Barracuda.” They’d make Ann Wilson, legendary vocalist of Heart, proud.
Moriah is, without question, a versatile powerhouse of a singer, but every member of the band brings an expert level of musical mastery. Bella Perron ripped and raged on the guitar with the kind of confident swagger you’d see in British glam rock. Ashley Suppa’s bass playing perfectly showcased the cool, confidently smooth showmanship of the 70’s; the golden age of bass playing. Faith Powell on drums was a force of acoustic nature. Faith’s technique on drums is incredibly crisp. Her drumming expertly backed the beats, leading the rock party, and her charisma was infectious. Plush is one of the most cohesive bands I’ve ever seen. They’ve got fantastic songs, excellent showmanship, and bring a fresh breath of air by effortlessly blending classic and modern rock in the best of ways.
Their opening song, “Champion,” off their 2021 self-titled debut album, could easily be an anthem to inspire anyone to greatness. Their set consisted of songs from their 2021 album, Plush, a and the last song being from their latest single was the perfect way to end the night. Plush has one of the strongest debut albums I’ve ever heard, and I highly recommend checking them out. If you want to see a band and witness rock greatness, go see Plush. They’ll be selling out arenas in no time.

The Warning is a Force to be Reckoned With
The audience didn’t even wait until the band took to the stage before erupting into cheers. The moment the lights dimmed; they knew what was about to happen. The Warning was here to show why’ve they’ve quickly established themselves as a force to be reckoned with in the rock scene. The three sisters from Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, proved that big things come in small packages. The three-piece band put on an epically eclectic sound comparable to a five-piece band.
Their talent is, in a word, undeniable. Having been inspired and influenced by musical legends such as Queen and Pink Floyd, their lyrics are introspective yet catchy, such as in their song “Disciple,” which comments on using social media as escapism from your problems: “As you stare at your screen, you shall remain inside your space…” and Evolve’s call to self-improvement “It’s not destruction, it’s rebirth. I’m not in danger, I’m the danger now. Show me what it means to change.”
What’s so impressive about The Warning is that, despite their musical complexities and deep lyrics, they’re all smiles when on stage; making a high-level concert look almost effortless. Not from a lack of effort, but in the sense of being so in tune with your sound, having worked so hard for so long, and fully and completely dedicated themselves to their craft for years. Their concert spanned most of their latest album ERROR as well as selected songs from their 2018 release “Queen of the Murder Scene.” The Warning even surprised the audience with playing their latest single, just released this year, “MORE.” Their encore performance of “EVOLVE” hit just as hard as their opening act, sending the crowd into a thrashing cheering frenzy. The Warning is the result of years of drive and dedication and that’s reflected in their polished performance.
