Saturday Morning Adventures Podcast: Doug

The Saturday Morning Adventures Podcast is Pop Break’s audio appreciation for all things animated. We’ve covered everything from X-Men ’97 to The Owl House to Bluey to Jem and the Holograms!

Only ’90 skids Know why this week’s Saturday Morning Adventures is a funny one … a Doug Funny one that is. That’s right, November’s episode is all about the Nicktoons classic, Doug.

Doug was created by Jim Jinkins and originally aired from August 11, 1991 to January 2, 1994 on Nickelodeon then September 7, 1996 to June 26, 1999 on ABC.

Leading the way is Pop Break All Star and frequent guest of the Socially Distanced podcast, Ben Murchison.

He is joined by Editor in Chief of The Pop Break Bill Bodkin and Anime x Pop and Socially Distanced host Amanda Rivas. Together, the three of them dig into what made Doug one of the seminal series of the 90s, why it still resonates today, and what other Nicktoon favs they may have had growing up. PLUS IMPRESSIONS…so many impressions!

Doug Season 1-4 are currently streaming on Paramount Plus. Disney+ currently has three seasons of Doug (1996-1998) as well as 1999’s Dougs 1st Movie.
