AEW Double or Nothing 2026 Predictions: To Bald or Not to Bald?

AEW Double or Nothing 2026, the 8th iteration of AEW’s first ever PPV, takes place Sunday May 24 at a sold-out Louis Armstrong Stadium in Queens, NYC. The event, as with all AEW PPVs, is loaded with title matches, big stakes and big fights. It airs on HBO MAX, Prime Video, YouTube, PPV.com, and traditional PPV avenues. Click here for more info. This event marks Mick Foley’s debut as part of AEW as Tony Khan confirmed on the DoN media call (see link below) that Foley will be a regular part of AEW. He will work with Renee Paquette as part of the pre-show.

Let’s get into the predictions.

The Buy-In:

AEW Women’s Tag Team Title 5 Minute Eliminator Match: Divine Dominion (Megan Bayne and Lena Kross) vs. Zayda Steel and Viva Van

Thoughts: Four women who represent the future of AEW. Divine Dominion is an absolute juggernaut and they’ve gelled so quickly, it’s almost improbable. Steel and Van both have had solid showings in ROH and this match should be more competitive than previous Dominion eliminators. The outcome is a lock, but the stock for Van and Steel is on the rise.

Prediction: Divine Dominion

Boom & Doom (“Big Boom!” A.J. and Q. T. Marshall) and The Conglomeration (Mark Briscoe, Orange Cassidy, and Roderick Strong) with Big Justice vs. Shane Taylor Promotions: Shane Taylor, Anthony Ogogo, Capt. Shawn Dean, Carlie Bravo, and Lee Moriarty

Thoughts: At Revolution 2026 Shane Taylor shoved The Rizzler to the ground, and then ate a spear from Big Justice. Wild times. So this is probably why this match is happening. Listen, when Big Boom is involved in a match we don’t need the storyline to be Shakespeare. This will be a fun popcorn match with good spots, a whole bunch of shenanigans and the good guys will win in the end.

Prediction: The Big Boomin’ Conglomerates

Death Riders: Claudio Castagnoli, Daniel Garcia, and Wheeler Yuta vs. The Opps: Anthony Bowens, Hook, and Katsuyori Shibata

Thoughts: Low-key banger incoming. Ultimately this match will likely bleed into the main show and lead right into Joe vs. Ospreay. These six will pummel each other and it’ll be a good time at the fights. If we’re looking at who needs the W more it’s The Opps who are just getting back on their feet after months without Samoa Joe and Will Hobbs heading to WWE.

Winner: The Opps

Tony Khan on Double or Nothing 2026, Mick Foley, Jim Ross, Ronda Rousey & The Future of AEW

The Main Show

Men’s Owen Hart Cup Quarterfinal: Samoa Joe vs. “The Aerial Assassin” Will Ospreay

Thoughts: The Owen Hart Tournament feels designed for Will Ospreay to go to Wembley, or fail in the finals only to make it somehow improbably to the main event of All In. This is a certified dream match and it’s shocking that these two have never faced off before. That being said, it’s going to be an absolute banger. There will be a healthy mixture of the Johnny Utah/Bodhi storyline with Mox and Ospreay with “The Aerial Assassin” tapping into his new style. While it is a bit of a hat on a hat, that won’t deter this match from being excellent.

Predictions: Will Ospreay

AEW International Championship Match: “The Rainmaker” Kazuchika Okada (c) vs. “The Alpha” Konosuke Takeshita

Thoughts:These two have amazing chemistry together and that will be on full display here. The question mark here is this: Is there a higher stake for these two at All In, or is this the payoff match? My gut says if there’s another match for these two in Wembley. We need to see Takeshita bounced from the DCF and then we get the rematch.

Predictions: Okada

AEW World Tag Team Title I Quit Match: FTR (c) with Stokely vs. Christian Cage and Adam Copeland

Thoughts: It’d be a complete shock if FTR got the W here. I think we’re going to see Cope try some insane stuff in this. Some of it will work, some of it will miss wildly. This feud needs to end, as it’s been holding up the tag title scene.

Predictions: C and C Wrestle Factory

Stadium Stampede Match: Jericho, The Hurt Syndicate, Kenny Omega, “Jungle” Jack Perry and The Young Bucks vs. The Demand, Mark Davis, Andrade El Ídolo and The Dogs

Thoughts: Expect the following…

  • Mark Davis will hit a wicked piledriver to someone and you’ll think someone died.
  • Andrade will do a high altitude moonsault.
  • Clark Connors will spear someone through something insane.
  • One of The Buck will do something wild with a shoe.
  • Kenny will hit multiple soul snatching V-Triggers
  • Lashley will hurl someone off something tall.
  • Ricochet will hit some sick ass aerial move
  • Jericho will have several sports entertainment spots

No matter what, I think Team Jericho wins here, blowing off the feud with The Demand.

Prediction: Team Jericho

4-Way Match for the AEW Women’s World Title: “The Toxic Spider” Thekla (c) vs. Hikaru Shida vs. Jamie Hayter vs. “The Cosmic Killer” Kris Statlander

Thoughts: Thekla said it best in an interview with Renee Paquette: two of them (Stat and Shida) will take each other out. I see that happening here. I also think The Sisters of Sin will hang up Hayter, allowing Thekla to get the duke here. This is going to be the sleeper match of the night.

Prediction: Thekla

Men’s Owen Hart Cup Quarterfinal: “Most Wanted” Bandido vs. Swerve Strickland

Thoughts: The lead-up to this match on Dynamite sucked, but this match will not. These two are going to have a million false finishes here. Swerve needs this W here. He’ been off TV long enough, and his “Most Dangerous Man in AEW” moniker needs to be re-established. A strong and brutal win over Bandido… followed by Brody King in the next round, is necessary.

Predictions: Swerve

Women’s Owen Hart Cup Quarterfinal: “The Fallen Goddess” Athena vs. Mina Shirakawa

Thoughts: Absolutely no way Athena loses this one. Mina’s always a reliable babyface, but it’s time for them to pull the trigger on “The Fallen Goddess.” Does Willow Nightingale’s injury mean that the Forever ROH champ is destined to win the Owen? Tough call. The mystery entrant could be anyone. Some think it could be Mercedes Mone, Britt Baker, Charlie (fka Dakota Kai) or someone we’re not even considering. It’s a tough call to predict this bracket, outside of this match which is a lock.

Predictions: Athena

AEW Continental Championship Match – No Time Limit: Jon Moxley (c) vs. Kyle O’Reilly

Thoughts: These two just have great matches together. Expect a bloody repeat of their classic at Full Gear 2025. However, Mox wins here. Mox has been dominant and eventually he and Ospreay are gonna clash. So Mox needs the Big W here. I think it could go down as Ospreay beating Swerve, then Mox challenging for his spot at Wembley, and Ospreay retaining that opportunity against Mox at Redemption.

Predictions: Jon Moxley

Title vs. Hair Match for the AEW World Championship: Darby Allin (c) vs. MJF

Thoughts: The straightforward (and most likely correct) way to do this is by having MJF regain the title using his patented nefarious methods. However, imagine if he lost! Having him get his head shaved in NYC would be legendary. I could even see Mick Foley coming out to make sure MJF gets his head shaved. It’d be great! Don’t think it goes that way though.

Predictions: MJF
