AEW Dynamite & Collision 10/14/26: The Road to WrestleDream is Set

It’s a stacked card for a three-hour mega show. With WrestleDream just days away, AEW gives us another combo show of both Dynamite and Collision, jam-packed with matches which will have direct implications on the PPV.

The show kicked off with a huge tag match, and a huge result as Mark Davis, Jake Doyle, and Wardlow defeated Jon Moxley, Daniel Garcia, and Gabe Kidd. Garcia stood out by being the smallest guy with the biggest fight. He’s an excellent wrestler, probably one of the best. Wardlow looked like the monster he’s always been. Speaking of Wardlow, I really hope he gets pushed again. However, the spotlight should stay on Dunkzilla Davis, who spiked Mox with the Close Your Eyes and Count Down to F*** for the definitive pinfall victory.

Davis is a definitive threat for Saturday. It would be a phenomenal event if Davis dethroned Mox.

Adam Copeland defeated Josh Alexander to Qualify for the Clockwork Chaos Match

More big names being added to what looks to be a chaotic affair. Alexander looked really good, but Cope’s inclusion seemed assured. After the match, Cope took the mic to inform fans Christian Cage is out injured. He details how Christian got injured within the first few minutes after a nasty fall with the ladder, but still managed to finish the match. Cope says he’s realized his poster isn’t the one hung up anymore. It’s time. 2027 will be his final year and he wants to win the AEW World Heavyweight Championship before he hangs it up for good.

Backstage: Bandido, Brody King, and “Hangman” Adam Page try to get on the same level… to challenge The New Level for the World Trios Championships. It seems Brody feels Page can’t get his head into it and is too consumed by his fiery rage for Swerve.

Konoske Takeshita defeated Brian Cage to Qualify for the Clockwork Chaos Match

While it seemed clear for this to go in Takeshita’s favor, part-way through it seemed believable for Cage to win after doing a damn top rope springboard hurricanrana! The two traded slams, powerbombs, and suplexes at a ridiculous pace. Takeshita takes it with a Dragon Sleeper Submission.

Promo from FTR, they want their shot at the AEW World Tag Team Champions, The Young Bucks. However, instead of the Jackson Boys, out comes the Motor City Machine Guns. They challenge FTR to a best 3-out-of-5 series. FTR agrees, but to have the first match at WrestleDream.

Kazuchka Okada defeated Myron Reed to Qualify for the Clockwork Chaos Match

Okada, despite losing last week to Ospreay, gets another chance to be in the title picture by defeating Reed. The Rascalz member stunned and kept Okada confused as much as possible, until Okada took control by outsmarting the faster wrestler. Reed went to the top rope one too many times which cost him the match.

Triangle of Madness defeated Mercedes Mone and Divine Dominion

What a match. Coming back from Japan, the Triangle are still the Artist of Stardom Trios Champions. Amazing how even while Kross and Bayne are physically more imposing, their opponents, Skye Blue and Julia Hart are not at all intimidated. The CEO found herself back-peddling more than a few times. Thekla scored the finish, sending a message to Mercedes that her championship is very much in danger.

Samoa Joe & Tommaso Ciampa defeated AEW World Champion Will Ospreay and AEW National Champion Andrade El Idolo in the main event of Dynamite

The live crowd remained hyped and psyched for the Dynamite closer. Chants for all four break out at various points, making this feel like a true epic main event. Ciampa and Joe work very well together, almost like a modern version of the Brainbusters. Joe noped Ospreay’s Os-Cutter out of nowhere which massively popped the crowd. However, Ciampa, frustrated, resorts to underhanded tactics, using the title belt, DDTs Andrade, allowing Joe to get the submission victory. Joe and Ciampa looked very good going into their respective matches.

Collision kicks off with Renee Paquette trying to speak to Moxley about the loss tonight. He is unable to speak, but stomps around grunting like he’s insanely constipated, throwing things until Renee tries to calm him down. Marina steps in to bring Mox back. This was pretty interesting, Renee and Marina seem to be on the same page, and in a rarity, the unspoken truth of their marriage is briefly included.

Ricochet defeated Ace Austin to Qualify for the Clockwork Chaos match

Fast paced match with a lot of creative spots. Ricochet used Austin’s momentum against him, shoving him through the ropes to the floor, later on doing a wheelbarrow-style German suplex. While both move fast and show off agility with ease, they also took the action to the mat, wearing the other down to reduce damage. Austin looked like the shining star, multiple times it seemed he had Ricochet beat, but inevitably Ricochet was one-step ahead, getting the pinfall victory.

Ace Austin is an excellent wrestler. Ace qualifying would have been a real treat, seeing him in there with the likes of Okada, Joe, Ospreay, and Copeland.

Nick Wayne Gloats… Celebrate…

He starts bragging about beating Jericho, but his repetitive actions wind up bringing him out to confront Wayne. The youngster shows a video package, impressively displaying his win. However, Jericho opts to use his clout to air a package of his own, which includes the dreaded low blow. Wayne says Jericho can get one more match at WrestleDream, to put this feud to rest once and for all.

Hyan and Dani Luna defeated TBS Champion Persephone and Dr. Britt Baker, D.M.D.

Luna pinning Baker to win the match was the upset victory we were waiting for all night. Nearly every qualifier felt predictable, while the other matches had believable and exciting outcomes. Thekla pinning Bayne, Davis piledriving Mox into oblivion, and now Luna getting a win on AEW Collision. Baker and Persephone opt to continue the fight until Queen Aminata arrives. We’re getting a Fatal-Four Way for the TBS Championship, as Persephone defends against Aminata, Hyan, and Luna.

I have stated this many times, Persephone has all the “It” to be a long time main eventer. She has looks, the facial expressions, wrestling skills, and the charismatic presence needed. She has IT all.

During an interview segment with Kevin Knight and Kyle Fletcher, the Young Bucks superkicked them to Renee’s shock. Callus runs away. During the interview Knight gloats about being the greatest TNT Champion ever, which seems to irk Fletcher.

Darby Allin defeated Hechicero to retain the TNT Championship and Qualifies for the Clockwork Chaos match

These two wrestlers are absolutely nuts. Just nuts. Hechicero bounced Darby around like a blue wall ball, although Darby threw himself around just as much. Darby looks like such a poor helpless soul being completely obliterated. However, championship or not, also portrays to perfection the “never say die” mentality by rallying back, looking for a hole in the offensive. He did just that, clobbering Hechicero with consecutive Coffin Drops to get the win. After the match, the other opponents for the Clockwork Chaos match gradually storm the ring. Copeland strikes Ospreay and things really take a turn. Don Callis Family members come in and things get crazy like it’s 1996.

A neatly wrapped up Go-Home show with a bow tied on it. The matches are set, the rivalries and feuds have heated up, now it’s time to take it all to WrestleDream.

AEW Dynamite and Collision for 10/14/26 are now streaming on HBO MAX.
