the news desk looks at a new venture from raconteur brendan benson…
It’s been a busy year for Brendan Benson. The Nashville-based rocker best known to mainstream audiences for his work with Jack White in The Raconteurs, recently launched his own label, Readymade Records which features troubadors like Young Hines and Corey Chisel as well as Benson himself.
This weekend, Benson will be breaking the metaphoric bottles of champagne on his latest venture — Readymade Films, at The Basement in Nashville, TN. The event will feature a Turntable.fm DJ set from Young Hines, a screening of Concert Los Angeles (a film that documents Benson’s live performance in LA) and then a performance by Readymade’s most recent musical discovery, The Howling Brothers.
Pop-Break is extremely excited about this new venture by Benson because one of the site’s closest friends, supporters and collaborators, Victor Reyes, will be working with the company, editing a short-form documentary about the Irish-American Benson’s tour of his motherland in 2010 with his wife and newborn son. He also edited the trailer below.
Stayed tuned for more from Readymade as Pop-Break will be covering all their releases.
