Pop-Preview: The Blank Canvas Wrestling Art Show

the news desk goes under the hood…

Wrestling has sometimes been referred to as “poetry in motion” and for purists out there it can often be referred to as an art form.

However, tomorrow night at The PhilaMOCA (The Philadelphia Mausoleum of Contemporary Art) it’ll literally be a night of art and wrestling…and rock ‘n’ roll.

The art aspect of the show will be hosted and curated by Sammy Shuster and Corey Bechelli. The art exhibit will feature a number of brilliant wrestling themed pieces of art.

Musically, the master of “Snake Style” Lucha Libre, OPHIDIAN THE COBRA, will be performing his new hit “Death to Amasis!”

The sultry stylings of HAYLEY JANE will be backing up Ophidian and singing her own ode to Luchadores!

DJ BROPAR will be spinning classic wresting themes, wrestler-performed tracks, and projecting iconic wrestling videos!

Rounding out the musical card will be the excellent lucha-themed rock ‘n’ roll band out of the famed parts unknown section of The Jersey, The Mystery Men.

PHILADELPHIA COMEDY WRESTLING will showcase Philly’s brightest comedic performers as they pay homage to the flashy trash talking promos, slick video packages, colorful personas, and bitter rivalries of the squared circle!

Superstars from CHIKARA Pro, the incredible lucha-inspired independent wrestling promotion out of Pennsylvania, will be in attendance in full costume! Who knows what mayhem or hijinx could ensue?

Proudly sponsored by Narragansett Brewing Company, Barry’s Homebrew Outlet, Red Bull, and Locust Moon Comics.
