Tom Hiddleston’s performance as Loki has skyrocketed the character to marketability levels that are normally reserved for heroes only. Audiences never get tired of Loki’s detailed schemes that constantly make him switch sides between the cheerful bag guy and the reluctant hero. This fact brought things to a head during the making of Thor: The Dark World when executives insisted that the script be rewritten in order to accommodate more scenes for the character. Another example is the exclusive cover that Target made for the blu-ray version of the film. It features Loki sneering at any customer who is thinking of buying the film without Thor or any other character taking any focus away from him.
